Sharpening my gaze onto the figure, I began to read its every movement — even if it was the slightest one imaginable, I still kept up with it. Then, the figure unleashed a loud shriek that shook the entire building, before dashing at me with high speed — attempting to grab a hold of me with its talon like claws.
Exhaling, I quickly leaned back — dodging the initial attack, before quickly spinning around and blocking the next attack with my bo-staff, seemingly impressing the figure a bit.
Then afterwards, I smirked, before placing my right foot against the creature and with a bit of help from my monstrous ATK stat, I knocked the figure back with a very powerful kick.
Afterwards, I spun my bo-staff around, before hitting it against the ground and igniting it fully with Abyssal Flames which engulfed the whole thing. Afterwards — I turned around before beginning to sprint away from the figure, as it shook its head and recovered from the slight shock that had effected it fron my kick.
Looking around, it shrieked once more upon seeing me flee, before getting back up and dashed after me, expanding its arms into what looked a lot like wings attached to them.
The hunt was on.
As I sprinted down the hall, I kept my 'Global Sense' skill at high power — making sure to keep that figure in my sensible radius at all times, just so it wouldn't be able to escape from my view... Or I guess, my 'range' and ambush me.
One thing I refrained from using was 'Limitless Acceleration', considering that I would have a very hard time trying to explain to the Headmaster, Lavia and Malteese what it was all about when I suddenly began sprinting at Mach 9.6 speed.
I used my Bo-Staff as a pole, smashing into the ground infront of me, before spinning around the corner with it and launching myself down the hall a bit, before landing back onto my feet and continuing the sprint almost immediately, with the figure still hot on my trail, dashing after me with its loud shrieks echoing through the hallway.
'Just a little more and I will be there...'
I thought, shedding a slight sweat. Thank Christ for my high stats now, as they were an absolute saviour at this moment — allowing me to somewhat outspeed this figure without using my skills all that much to boost myself forward.
| Master, from the side. |
The Ancient One warned me, causing me to quickly hit the deck and slide across the ground, leaning back a lot — to the point where it looked like I had snapped my spine in half.
In the same second as I hit the deck, from the right side of the hallway — a giant, purplish crystal spike thing shot out, almost impaling me onto it as well as sending heavy shivers down my spine. Had it not been for the Ancient One, I would not have been able to dodge it...
Recovering almost immediately, I continued my sprint, with the figure smashing through the spike it had created, before continuing its pursuit after me.
One thing that I didn't understand, is how that crystal spike thing had managed to almost impale me without setting off my 'Global Sense' skill and informing me of its coming. Seriously — why didn't 'Global Sense' pick up on that?
| After managing to analyse the spike, I can confidently say that the reason behind
[Global Sense] NOT reacting to the incoming attack was because the Crystal Spike was not made using Magic or Magical Energy. It was pure matter. |
