After seeing the giant walls of the maze right beside the village, I asked Wezrall to find a spot for us to stop the carriage at where we wouldn't be disturbing the local life nor really getting in the way of everyones daily things. Almost immediately the Wendigo King maneuvered the carriage to the inn located in the village — since it apparently had a sort of 'parking lot' or something similar but for carriages, where all carriages that entered the village usually were put to stay.
Once in this parking space or whatever it was called in this world, I quickly desummoned the Shadow Beasts, in order to ensure that no one tried to approach them to try and feed them or something. I have learned from my mistake and overconfidence in my control over these Shadow Beasts I summoned through 'Shadow Manipulation' and was NOT about to take risks with them.
Once we had found our temporary stop, I quickly called everyone inside the carriage, before hinting to Odale to set up a sound isolating spell around us, which he did a moment after my hint.
Once the spell was up and everyone was... Well, firstly awake — but more importantly paying attention, I cleared my throat.
"Alright, so we've stopped at a village which was not listed anywhere on our map nor does anyone from here have knowledge of it — or at least, I assume you have don't have any knowledge of it."
I stated, looking at them all a bit hesitantly, incase one of them decided to speak up about actually having some information on the village and its whole operating system or whatever. However, to no ones surprise, everyone remained quiet, with only really Iyka station that she had only heard rumours of a village with a maze next to it, but that's about it.
Afterwards I continued my small 'speech'.
"The only real goal at this village is to ask around for any information that could be useful for our detour to the Licua Kingdom and any potential dangers we have to watch out for on the road to it. This is also a great opportunity to take a small break and just explore if you wish to."
I continued with Odale immediately lifting his right arm up into the air, like a student in school who wished to ask a question. Not going to lie, seeing him — someone who is known as literally the Fire Prince — lift his arm up to ask a question like a student was rather.... Strange.
After a quick exhale, I gestured to him to go ahead with his question — upon which Odale lowered his right arm back down.
<Odale>;
"May I remain in the carriage and continue decoding the scrolls? I believe I am very close to finally figuring out what all of them mean."Odale asked.
His question almost immediately confused me, as I didn't understand why he felt the need to ask permission to do this in the first place.Was he afraid that I wouldn't allow him to stay at the carriage and force him to explore? Surely my 'subordinates' don't think of me as some vile and cruel tyrannical monarch.... Right?
"There's absolutely no issue with you staying here. Besides, it's not like we plan to be here for too long, at most a single day."
I replied, with Odale nodding in response before picking up his notebook and quill, to seemingly resume his decoding.
<Frindel>;
"Then Master, may I request permission to go around and see what fruits and vegetables are around? I would like to get some for our trip so we have ingredients for any meal we plan to have in the future."Frindel suddenly spoke up, causing me to turn my head towards her. Hearing her request, I nodded towards her with a smile.
"Of course — better yet, why not take Vien with you? You two can find some ingredients together as a duo right?"
