Once, there were two beautiful kingdoms - one was ruled by humans and the other, by elves. These kingdoms weren't on the same side and had constant war between them — with a conflict that would last for several lifetimes.
The reason for the conflict was different depending on who you asked. The Elves said that they were at war with the humans due to them taking captives of their kind and turning them into slaves, which was forbidden by the law established by the Holy Night Order, however the Humans claimed that the war had begun due to the greed of the elves, who wished to horde all treasures to themselves.
It was impossible to know which side of the story was the truth and which one was the lie — or if both stories were true or lies, however it did not matter, as neither side was willing to speak to the other and simply kept the war going.
However, the war was like any other war and produced many, many casualties and injuries. Humans and Elves alike lost hundreds of thousands of innocent individuals as well as soldiers, simply due to their never ending conflict. Neiher side was benefiting from this feud.
One day, a human knight who had been severely injured and lost his comrades to the elves during a massive battle, found himself at a crystal clear lake all alone — deep inside a forest.
This lake and the forest around it had miraculously not been touched by the flames of war caused by the Elves and Humans, which allowed it to grow and grow — becoming lush and beautiful.
At this lake, the knight fell next to it, extending his right arm into the lakes water and praying to the Primal Dragon of Water to bless him and grant him a miracle of healing, so he may have a chance to avenge his fallen comrades. However, the Primal Dragon — did not answer his cries.
The knight then passed out from exhaustion and bloodloss, laying at the lake as his blood slowly stained the ground.
It looked like it was the end for the Knight.
However, luckily for him — it was not. A young elven lady who had wandered into the forest found the knight out cold by the water. At first, she was afraid to approach him — scared of the possibility that it may be a trap laid out by the Humans.
However, her curiosity got the better of her and she eventually approached him, falling to her knees infront of the knight and examining him. The knight was clearly injured fatally, however, miraculously, he was not dead yet.
He still breathed on.
Interested and curious about the Knight, the Young Elven Woman used her magic to heal the Knight and his wounds — saving his life in the process.After a while, the knight eventually awoke, opening his eyes slowly and seeing the blue sky and the rays of sunshine blast through the treeline above him. The first thought that came to the Knights mind was a simple question;
"How am I alive?"
The Knight took a look around, before spotting the Young Elven Lady nearby, hiding slightly behind a tree — seemingly afraid of the knight.
Seeing that she was an elf, the knight almost immediately jumped to his feet before grabbing his sword and pointing it at her — a look of distress and even fear across his face.
"Elven scum! How dare you show yourself before me!"
He shouted at the Young Lady.
However, the Elven woman showed no aggression nor ill intent towards the man and despite her fear, she stepped forward towards him — feeling his pain.The Knight didn't understand this gesture and took it as a sign of aggression, swinging his sword towards the Young Elven Woman, who caught it, before pushing it down to the ground. Afterwards, she reached out her right hand towards the Knights face and touched his cheek lightly, confusing the Knight.
