        The Watcher eventually invited me for a cup of tea, which I rejected — unsure if I trusted him fully yet. While it was clear he wasn't my enemy, I don't know whether he had any other malicious intentions yet. I mean — I assume he is responsible for bringing me to this.... Whatever it is, so I already am a bit sketched out by him.

However one thing I did take the Watcher upon, is the invitation to take a seat — sitting down on a stool that he had brought for me using what I can only assume were some kind of telekinesis abilities and setting it down in the middle of the room.

Once I was sat down, he himself sat back down in the chair that he had appeared in, before exhaling lightly and looking towards me.

<'The Watcher'>;
"I'm sure you have a lot of questions, however I ask that you save them for a bit later. For now, I want you to just listen on."

The Watcher stated, his voice calm and composed as he took in a deep breath and clapped his hands together lightly. Immediately afterwards, a single book flew out of a nearby bookshelf, before flying straight into his hands, before he opened it.

The books cover was strange, as it was kind of... Washed out and grey — almost like all of its colour was drained off, with only some remnants of the colour it used to be remaining on the cover. As the elderly man flipped through the pages, my curiosity grew as I pointed to the book.

"Can I just ask — Why is that book so..."

<'The Watcher'>;
"Washed out and grey? My dear friend, that is a simple question to answer. The individual that this book is linked to, is no longer alive."

The Watcher replied before closing the book suddenly. I fell silent immediately, not quite sure how to process that response.

The individual the book is 'linked to' is.... No longer alive? What the hell does that mean? In some ways it was very simple and almost caveman levels of understandable, but in other ways, it was so... Well, mysterious and almost incomprehensible.

"What do you mean by that..?"

I asked, as the Watcher looked towards me and placed his hand onto the books cover, running his decaying fingers over it and exhaling lightly.

<'Watcher'>;
"Every book in this building is linked to every living individual that has ever existed in the world. Each books contents are full records of that individuals entire life as well as a window into seeing what fate has in store for them in the future."

The Watcher explained, before swiping his right hand through the air. In an instant, multiple books flew out of their places in the bookshelves and then surrounded me, before all opening and flipping through their pages rapidly.

I looked at all of them confused, as I saw all sorts of different coloured texts in the books. I saw some emerald green text, some gold text, some black text... Even some red text. I'm sure that each of the colours represented something different within these.... Let's call them 'Destiny Records' — but the question is... What?

The books then closed, before flying back into their spots, as the Watcher got up from his chair and walked a bit towards me.

<'The Watcher'>;
"Did you see it? The texts - did you see them?"

"...I suppose.... They were several different colours of text in them... What..."

I looked up at the Watcher with a curious gaze as well as a slight sweat running down my forehead as I gulped lightly — unsure whether I should even be asking the question I wanted.

"What do they mean?"

I asked.

The Watcher remained silent before turning his back and walking over to the desk behind him, placing the grey and washed out book onto it, before turning back around and placing his hands together.
