“But, I've already done the papers and it took a lot of work to do it over night.” Mr Hames said, he looked at me with an urgent intensity, his eyes pleading to leave things the way they were.

I actually felt bad for him, it must've been a lot of work arranging things overnight.

“Okay,” I sighed, turning to Don whose gaze was still on mine, “but we'd make our own deal separately, I mean we don't have to sign a contract to actually do it.”

He scoffed. “I don't think you have any right to add your opinion.” As expected, his voice came out low and demanding.

“Why is that so?” I folded my arm across my chest, raising an eyebrow.

“I don't think you've forgotten that I gave you $500000.” He made it sound like I was selling myself.

Well, as long as I get my money, I don't care what anyone has to say.

“We’ll talk about it later. For now,” I turned to the now relieved Mr Hames, taking the contract from him, “let's sign this contract.”

The contract was filled with words, words words and more words.

From all my experience in life(which is very little), I know that whenever one wants to sign a contract, one has to read it.

I yawned, after reading half a page. I felt Don staring at me, but decided it'd be best to avoid his gaze.

“Is there no way you could summarize whatever stuff's in here.” I had to ask when I thought the boredom was going to end me.

“Well,” Mr Hames started, I actually thought he was going to tell me to read it myself or something, “it's mostly emphasizing on you not planning to get a divorce till two years.

“If you attempt a divorce any time within that period, you'd pay the amount he gave you, which is $500000, in six folds. So you'd have to pay $3000000 to get a divorce.”

My jaw dropped at the amount. Nope. Never. No, I will never consider a divorce, I must never consider it.

“But then if you don't file for a divorce after the two years, you two would get a divorce and would go your separate ways but you won't be left to go back to poverty, you'd be leaving with $3000000.”

My grin went from ear to ear. I would never be poor.

“You must not give the media a clue that you two aren't married, once outside you must both act like the best couple in the world.”

Just to pretend to be married for two years, I was getting $3000000.

I leaned closer to Don, grabbing hold of his strong biceps with both hands. “I will gladly do that lover boy.” It was obviously the huge amount that had gotten into my head, causing my brain to malfunction.

Don's face contorted in a mixture of confusion and surprise as he stared down at me in a puzzled expression.

His stare brought my brain back to reality. I immediately dropped my hand.

What was I doing? Gosh I'm crazy.

“Is that all?” I asked the lawyer who also looked surprised.

“Well no, there are still more things but they're not really important.”

“Oh, okay.” I took a pen Mr Hames handed to me, signing on every line that said Eri Sunville.

After what felt like a billion years, I was done signing, handing the papers to him, who gave it to Don to put his signature.

Mr Hames had gone and now I was officially a wealthy wife.

Don just started walking away, he didn't even stop to have a few words with me.

“Where are you going?” I asked, stopping his movement as he turned to me.

“What do you mean?” He furrowed his brows. For some reason, the way he stood, both hands in his pocket, the white shirt he had on that wasn't able to cover up his broad chest and six packs with the handle folded to his elbow showing off his strong biceps, I just couldn't stop thinking how handsome this dude was.

“We still need to talk about what I want from this wedding.”

Even though he didn't reply, he at least stopped frowning.

“I know you've offered me $500000, and will be giving me $3000000 in two years,” coming out of my mouth, I couldn't help but enjoy the sound of it, “but I don't want you to do certain things.”

He maintained a blank expression.

“When Suzy's done with her surgery, I don't want her going back to live in that house while I live in riches. She'd live with us, there are plenty of rooms in this huge mansion.” I placed more stress on the last two words.

“That will not be happening.”

“Well, I can't just leave her to live in that old house, she deserves to be happy too.” My forehead creased into a deep furrow.

“She doesn't have to live in your house, she can live in one of my mansions.” Mansions meant not just one type of this beautiful place, he had more.

“She can live in the one that's about an hour or two drive from here, I'd send some people to make it welcoming.”

Wow, so that meant Suzy would be living in wealth as well. This is the best decision I've ever made in my life. I can't believe I ever thought of backing out.

“But she still needs to be taken care of.”

“You don't have to worry about that, she'd have enough maids, drivers, cooks and many others.” He sounded bored and indifferent.

“Oh, then that'd be great.” I found myself smiling again. “Also, till we get a divorce, you mustn't touch me in any indecent manner, okay?”

He scoffed, muttering words I couldn't hear.

“What?”

He held my gaze. I hated the way those blue eyes made my heart flutter. His lips lifted into a smirk, he started towards me, hands still in his pocket making him look even more hot.

“What are you doing?” My voice was just above a whisper as he closed the gap between us.

My chest rising and falling at a fast rate. His arms found their way around my waist, earning a gasp from my throat as the scent of his aftershave seized my breathing. He leaned his head closer only making me wonder what was happening.

Was he going to kiss me? I knew I was supposed to drift away but I was too shocked to do that. His hands round my waist only sent shivers down my spine. What was happening?
