My phone began vibrating from where it lay on the desk in front of me. I was working alone because Eri was still asleep after how drunk she'd gotten last night.

I picked my phone up to see who was calling. It was Darien.

Darien and I had been best friends since we were 14, he's my best pal and for some reason he's still single, even though he's got all the qualities a female would want in a man.

I answered the call, placing the phone close to my ear.

“Hey pal, what's up?” I asked, not intending to make my tone come out so stern but well, Darien was used to that type of tone anyway.

“Hey, I'm just calling to ask if you're still in my hotel.” He sounded exhausted.

“Yeah, why?”

“Well, I'm on my way to Australia today for some business and would be staying in the same hotel so maybe we could find time to just have fun, you know, maybe go to a club or something.”

“You're coming to Australia?” I asked rhetorically.

“Duh… so you in?”

“Of course I'm in.” Although I was excited about the idea, it didn't come that way in my tone. “You know, I've really needed to talk to someone.”

“That's great, maybe we could meet up tomorrow night.”

“Yeah,” a knock came from the door, my heart skipped a bit knowing it was Eri, “okay bye now.”

“But why so soo—” I hung up before he could say any more.

I wasn't sure why I was smoothening my hair before saying “come in.”

The door opened and an abashed looking Eri walked in. Hands locked together in front of her.

I had to admit, she looked pretty. She was wearing a pink and white knee length night gown which the staffs obviously wore for her last night. Her hair might have been rough, but she still looked pretty with it.

“Do you need something?” I made sure my admiration wasn't evident in my tone, I mean why on earth was I admiring this woman. It's so annoying because I mustn't like her, not that I'm saying I do.

This is a marriage for two years, just for the sake of the media and my stocks, as soon as we're done she's packing her loads and leaving my house, nothing will change that.

“I just came to apologize for everything I did and said yesterday.”

Although I liked the fact she was apologize and felt bad for what she'd said, I didn't want her to start acting uncomfortable in front of me by saying anything I might regret, so I wasn't going to start melting because of her words.

“Go freshen up, you have a lot of work to do.”

She stared at me like she wasn't expecting that to be my reply. “A lot of work?”

“Yes, do you have a problem with that?” I gave her an intense stare which obviously got to her.

“No sir.” She turned around to leave, but stopped, turning back to me. “Can I ask something?”

“What?”

“How did I get into this cloth? I know it may sound stupid, but I don't have any memory of changing my clothes, did you perhaps—”

“Yes,” it'd be nice to just play around for a while. I watched her clench her fist which made it difficult for me to not laugh, but I didn't, just pulled my lips to a smirk.

“How could you Don?” She said through gritted teeth. So it was Don now? “And you're finding it funny?”

“Oh calm down, I sent some female staffs to change your clothes.” I continued working on my laptop. “Now go get dressed, make me a cup of coffee and get here so we could do some work.”

“Okay sir.”

I was sure she didn't intend to make it evident, but she rolled her eyes, heaving a huge sigh.

I heard the sound of the doorbell. Eri quickly rose up from my room couch where she was working on some papers I gave to her. “I'd get it.”

“Sure.”

She scurried out of my room. I could guess why she was so happy to finally leave the room.

I'd made her work since yesterday morning and now she was obviously exhausted, even though I gave her time to relax (ignore the fact that the time was from 10p.m till 6a.m)

“Hey Eri, what's up?” Darien's voice made me stand from my desk.

That meant he'd reached Australia. He didn't tell me when he arrived.

I sauntered out of the room just to see Eri and Darien standing side by side, for some reason that sight made a pinch of what I don't want to agree to be jealousy flow through me though I was sure neither of them had any bad intentions in mind.

“Hey Darien, you didn't tell me you've arrived.” I walked to offer him a handshake which he accepted, pulling me to a hug, slapping my back playfully.

We both drifted from the hug before he turned to Eri. “Sorry girl, but I've got to borrow your husband for the rest of the day. We want to have some boy hang out time.”

Eri seemed rather excited than annoyed. “Sure, you two can go out.”

“Darien, would you wait a while for me to finish up the work that's at hand?”

He frowned. “Come on, I don't want to have to sit on your couch for hours, would you take time?”

“I won't as long as Miss Eri does her work properly.” I glanced at her watching her brows fall to a frown.

I really didn't mean to overwork her, especially after what she said the night she was drunk but I just couldn't see myself stopping it, I mean I can't just appear one day and say I'm suddenly going to be nice to her or something.
