-Eri Jones-
Suzy and Rose had been good company for the whole day. It took a lot of convincing before they finally left the house in the night.
I wasn't sure how right they were about what Don had done, but one thing was for sure, if he'd allowed Leila to offer mom that money, things wouldn't have taken this turn.
I was obviously going to forgive him, but I just couldn't swallow the fact he knew he was the one who caused my mom's death and he still married me.
I sighed laying on the bed with Hane sleeping beside me.
“You alright?” Well, I guess she wasn't asleep.
“Yeah, I guess.”
There was silence for a while. “Are you going back?” It came out just above a whisper.
I pondered on that. There was no way I could live the rest of my life without Don, neither was I sure I could spend it with him, knowing that he was part of the reason mom isn't with me.
“What do you think I should so?”
Silence. We both just stared in the darkness.
After a moment of silence, I assumed she was asleep which I found surprising.
“Hane?” I called lowly but got no reply.
How could she just have fallen asleep that quickly. Strange.
After some minutes, probably hour of staring at the darkness, sleep greeted me.
I opened my eyes to the sound of the door closing.
“Hane.” I called sleepily, turning to see if she was still sleeping beside me on the bed which she wasn't.
I stood up from the bed. She'd probably gone out.
Sauntering out of the room to the parlor, I noticed a plate of rice and stew with a cup of orange juice beside it.
There was also a note on the table, which I reached out to pick. It was Hane's handwriting.
Eri, we're out of fruits and drinks so I'd be back soon, I just want to head to the market. Eat the food and try not to cry, okay?
I smiled, dropping the paper. What would I have done without Hane.
An hour later, I'd bathed and brushed and eaten finished when I heard the knock from the door.
At first I thought it'd be Hane, but she wouldn't have knocked. Then I thought it'd be either Rose or Suzy but why would they knock when they could just open it, or take the spare key from under the rug.
For some reason, fear gripped me while I scurried to the door.
I just had a feeling it'd be Don.
I reached for the door and felt relief flow through me when I sighted a man who most certainly wasn't Don when I opened it.
The relief was followed by confusion. Who on earth was this man.
“Eri Jones?” He sounded so business-like.
“Yes?”
The last thing I saw was the man reaching out for something in his pocket with his gloved hand.

I liked the feeling of sleeping on a billion fluffy pillows. It was very comfortable and made me feel safe.I wanted the comfort to last, as I rolled over to the other side of the fluffy pillows.
