-Eri Sunville-
I was elated to find out I just had 3 more days till this boring and work-filled honeymoon was over with.
I couldn't believe I succeeded in living with Don for a whole month and was still sane.
He had been acting slightly different since the day Darien arrived to Australia and they both left to do something I had no idea about.
Not that he was any nicer, he still overworked me which even worsened when I stupidly asked him why he always overworked me.
He replied in his usual cold tone, "aren't you my secretary and isn't it your job to do any work I tell you to do? At least I'm paying you."
I don't know what got into me to ask such witless question to a bee-brained Don.
Well, since then he'd overworked me but that wasn't what I meant when I said he was acting strange towards me.
Although I didn't want to put it to mind, I noticed him stealing glances at me at regular intervals when we worked.
Sometimes, he'd just smile at my sight but once he notice me stare, he'd quickly pretend to be doing something else.
And now here he stood in front of me asking a very weird question that normal Don would never think of asking.
"So would you go?" He didn't have the stern tone he normally possessed. This time he sounded like he didn't want to sound desperate for me to follow him.
"You want to go for a walk with me down the beach?" I had to confirm if I'd heard him right.
He nodded, a small smile obviously threatening to appear on his lips. "Yeah, you in?"
Of course I was in, anything was better than sitting in this place all day. "Yes, but I just want to know why you want me to tag along."
"Well," he seemed to be searching for the right word before continuing, "you seemed bored staying here so I thought maybe a walk would cheer your spirit."
I couldn't help but be amazed. "Yeah, but why 7p.m exactly?"
"Well I like to go on walks in the evening."
I still found it so weird but of course I was going to follow, maybe it'd make up for this boring and work-filled month.
***
If I'd expected the walk to be a fun one, I was probably losing it.It was one of the most boring walks I'd ever been. Neither of us said a word and I don't think that's happening anytime soon.
We just walked side by side, our fingers brushing each other once in a while which only did some strange things to my internals.
The silence was killing me, I hated being silent for so long. "Do you know you're very boring?" I had to say.
He stared at me, a confused expression on, which later turned to a small smile. "You're not the first to say that."
"Then why don't you change? Try being fun once in a while." I was aware of the wind giving my hair the free will to fly as high as they wished and for a moment when Don stared at it, I thought he was going to do something cliché.
"Well, I can try but you should know, one doesn't change overnight."
I smiled, staring at him. It was obvious he was avoiding my gaze as he stared too intensely to the front.
"I know but they do start with one night." This was the smartest I'd ever felt before. Giving a multi billionaire advice, what could make me look smarter?
"Well I guess I'd put your words into consideration." He still didn't look at me, but just knowing he agreed made me happy.
***
Gosh, that annoying Don was frustrating. He had worked the life out of me. He obviously didn't put my words to considerion.I lay on the couch in the parlor, not planning on sleeping but just wanted to relax.
He had said he wanted to go out for more work and I was sure once he returned, it was going to be more work for me, even though it was already 8p.m
I heard the door open.
I quickly shut my eyes, laying more comfortably on the couch.
Maybe if he saw I was sleeping he might not want to wake me up to work for him. At least we were leaving tomorrow.
My ponytailed hair made it difficult for me to feel comfortable pressing it against the sofa.
I heard footsteps walk inside closing the door when he was obviously inside. I was sure it was Don and didn't want to open my eyes the slightest so he wouldn't see I'm awake and tell me to do some stupid work for him.
The footsteps seemed to be getting louder and I was sure he was heading towards me.
"Are you really asleep?" He didn't sound annoyed, so I used all efforts in me to not shake.
"Well, since you're asleep I think it's best to talk."
Talk? Was he crazy or something? Did he forget if I'm really asleep, I wouldn't hear a thing he had to say.
Maybe I should open my eyes. Well, maybe I should just hear what he has to say.
"Why on earth are you so frustrating?" Frustrating? I was the least frustrating person. He was the annoying one who I sometimes feel like throwing off a cliff.
"You don't know how that ponytailed hair of yours make me go crazy."
Why did he hate me packing my hair in a ponytail? Was I that ugly in it?
"You just, you just want me to run mad. I don't understand you and how you keep on getting preetier every day."
Huh? What was he saying? What did he mean? I would have said he was drunk but he sounded sober and strong.
There was silence for a while and I thought he'd left, maybe I'd just open my eyes a little for a quick check.
Before I opened my eyes, I felt his lips meet mine. Although it only lasted for about a second, it happened and Don made it happen.
"Here," he sounded nervous and like he'd given it much thinking. "It's not like she can find out, I mean she's asleep." He muttered to himself.
I heard his footsteps again which meant he was leaving, few seconds later the footsteps sound had stopped and I heard his door closed
What just happened? Did I just get kissed by Don, Don Jones? What was that about?
I was too shocked to open my eyes, standing up to head to my room.
That was really surprising. Why would he randomly kiss me?
I really hope it doesn't mean what I think it does. Please don't mean it that way. Don what have you done?
