Just when everything seemed to be going well. Just when I thought I was going to have a perfect marriage and live happily ever after.

Just when I'd finally found happiness in life, my past decided to come haunt me.

How could Eri's mom be Catherine? How could I have ended up falling in love with Catherine's daughter?

Gosh this was so annoying.

I ran a hand through my hair, unable to think straight.

"This can't be. How the fuck did this happen?"

"You know Eri would be pissed off if she finds out, she'd probably even end your relationship." June said, not sounding any thing close to genuine concern.

I glared at her. "Are you sure Catherine's her mother?"

"A hundred percent. If you don't believe me, you could ask her yourself." The confidence in her tone was enough to make me believe her.

"I'm also certain from my research that if she was to ever find out where Kelvin was, she'd make his life a living hell." She added, dramatically shaking her head.

"June," I reached for her hand (that was something I hadn't done in years but at this point I'd do anything), "please don't tell this to Eri."

Color rose to her cheeks, as she smiled blushingly. "Of course I won't, what best friend would I be to do that."

I could not believe her so I tightened my grip on her hand. "June you don't understand, I need you to not tell her."

She rolled her eyes, frowning a little. "I won't, gosh you're so annoying. I only told you so you'd be aware of who you're married to."

I let go of her hand, heaving a huge sigh. What do I do? How could she be that young girl that bumped into me thirteen years ago?

"You plan on telling her, right?" She pulled her brows together a little in intimidation.

That was something I needed to ponder on more. "I'm not sure."

She'd never forgive me if she found out. That'd be the end of our relationship forever. She loved her mother so much, how could I have caused her death.

"What?!" Darien slammed his glass of beer on the table while I just continuously ran my hand through my hair.

"You were the cause of Eri's mom's death?" His glare did no good in calming my soul as I just gulped down the glass of beer in my hand, filling it again.

"She'd never forgive me." The thought of it gave me a headache.

What would she do if she found out? She'd hate me forever. I'd lose the first woman I'd ever fallen in love with. She'd never want to hear a single word from me again.

"No." I shook my head like it was going to help solve the issue. "I must not lose her. She's my life."

"Calm down." He held my hand to stop me from pulling my hair, though I didn't even realize I was doing that.

"Listen Don, all you've got to do is talk to her and let her know what you did." He made it sound so easy but it obviously wasn't that fucking easy.

"Shit!" I slammed my hand on the table of the club. "It isn't fucking easy Darien!"

"Well, what do you plan on doing then?!" He screamed back at me making me gain my composure again.

"How do you expect me to tell her? 'Hey Eri, I'm sorry but I'm the guy who killed your mother.'" I said in a pretend apology tone.

He rolled his eyes. "Use your brains you idiot, so you don't plan on telling her?"

I had no idea what to say. I wasn't sure how I was going to break the news to her and it was driving me crazy. "I'm not sure." I said truthfully.

"Shit, you're such a fucking dumbass."

I glared at him but knew he was right.

"Do you know how worse it'd be if she found out elsewhere? She'd never forgive your fucking ass you asshole."

I had nothing to say so I just gulped down the whole glass, pouring myself another one.

"You should tell her as soon as possible and let her know in a manner that wouldn't hurt her. Explain it to her in a sensible manner." He took a sip of his drink, staring a me in a mixture of concern and eagerness.

"How do you think I can explain in a sensible manner that I killed her mom!" This was too much, I couldn't hold on much longer.

"Stop acting like you stabbed her mom or something, you didn't kill her."

"But I caused her death. If I wasn't being such a bratty fucking asshole child, mom would've given her some money and she wouldn't have died of hunger."

I gulped down the glass again but this time when I wanted to fill the glass again, Darien took the cup from me.

"Don't drink more."

"I need it, how would I clear this all off my mind?" I felt my head about to break from fear of how to face Eri.

"Listen, you must let her know and as soon as possible, okay?"

He was right. If she found out from someone else, she'd never forgive me. She needed to know the truth and I'd let her know, but in a manner that she'd be bound to not get angry.

I nodded. "Okay."
