Vince has an unlikely encounter with Chad's sister, Mindy Meeks Martin
-
Vince Schneider left the bar after being kicked out. He rounded toward the back sauntering towards the parking lot. He was in the middle of pissing, unaware of a shadow swooshing by him. He was still urinating until he saw someone from the corner of his eye and he whirled around immediately, seeing Chad's twin sister, Mindy. "Jesus! What the fuck!?" He gasped out.
Mindy stood there with her arms folded, her usual cutesy demeanor replaced by one of annoyance. She walked over to Vince, a slight frown on her face.
"What part of 'don't bathrooms inside do you not understand? can you not read that there's bathrooms labeled restrooms in bars?"
Vince stood there, mid zip as he quickly spun around to face the girl. "I was kicked out.. and they wouldn't let me back in to piss.."
Mindy tilted her head slightly, a look of disbelief on her face.
"Okay... you know what that means? That means don't loiter in the parking lot and piss out here. Go to a gas station or something if you have to, genius."
Vince tilted his head slightly at her, "What do you want.." He grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest. "If you are gonna lecture me I don't give a fuck."
Mindy's playful teasing tone suddenly shifted to a more serious one. She unfolded her arms and looked into Vince's eyes intently.
"You do know there's a killer on the loose, right? Ghostface, attacking people left and right."
Vince scoffed at Mindy, "Yeah, that's just a myth."
Mindy rolled her eyes, frustrated at Vince's dismissive attitude. She placed her hand on her hip and raised an eyebrow.
"A myth? Are you living under a rock? People have been attacked and even killed. It's not a damn myth."
Vince looked at Mindy, unaware that Tara was attacked. "There hasn't been an attack since 2011.."
Mindy tilted her head slightly, confusion etched on her face.
"What are you talking about? There's been an attack just this week. Tara Carpenter was attacked in her own home. It was all over the news."
Vince's eyes widened, swallowing thickly. "W-Wait.. What?"
Mindy noticed Vince's reaction and nodded solemnly.
"Yeah, it happened. Tara had a nasty run-in with Ghostface at her own house. She's in the hospital right now, but they're saying she'll pull through."
Vince felt an odd chill run down his spine. "Does-Does Sam know?"
Mindy furrowed her brow, knowing that the mention of Sam would likely provoke a reaction from Vince.
"Yeah, she does. She's been pretty shaken up about it all, considering it's Tara we're talking about."
Vince began to pace back and forth, running his hands through his hair. "Holy fuck.." He says, pacing. "D-Do they have any suspects??"
Mindy watched as Vince started to pace, clearly distressed at the news. She shook her head slightly.
"No, that's the strange part. They haven't caught anyone. It's like Ghostface vanished into thin air. All they have to go on is Tara's account, and she didn't get a good look at the attacker."
Vince nodded, pacing still looking at Mindy unaware of the risks. He then was surprised by Mindy telling him about a meeting at her house tomorrow
Mindy observed Vince pacing back and forth, her gaze fixed on his anxious movements. After a moment, she decided to speak up.
"Actually, I'm having a get-together at my house tomorrow. A bunch of us are going to talk about this whole Ghostface thing and figure out what to do. You're welcome to join if you want."
Vince nodded until he realized her brother is gonna be there with his ex girlfriend, Liv. "Oh.. that's a shit show waiting to happen.."
Mindy chuckled lightly at Vince's comment.
"Yeah, I know it's not the most comfortable situation, with my brother and Liv. Trust me, I don't really like it either. But it's important that we all talk about this and work together. Can you put aside your beef for a few hours?"
"I can try." He says, looking at Mindy before looking back at her. "I'm sorry I got you all kicked.."
Mindy softened slightly, a hint of a smile tugging at the corner of her lips. She appreciated his apology, even if he was still a bit of a handful.
"You're damn right, you're sorry." *She teased, a flicker of her usual lighthearted demeanor returning.* "But it's okay. Just don't pull a stunt like this again, alright? Or I'll have to come find you and drag your ass out of the parking lot myself."
Vince softened slightly, a hint of a genuine smile on his face as he nods. "Noted," he murmured before giving Mindy the two finger salute and starts walking back to his car
Mindy couldn't help but notice the small smile on Vince's face. It was a rare sight, and it didn't escape her notice. She folded her arms and watched as he saluted her and began walking away.
"Hey, Vince," *she called out to him, her voice softer than before.* "Be careful on your way home, okay? It's not safe out here at night."
Vince nodded at Mindy, getting in his car and drove off back to his apartment
Mindy watched as Vince got into his car and drove off. She stood there for a moment, worrying about his safety. She had a feeling that the next few days were going to be anything but easy. With a deep breath, she turned and made her way back to her own car, her mind swirling with thoughts about Ghostface and the upcoming gathering at her house.
In hopes that the meeting will go according to plan.
