"in the end, it doesn't even matter"

⎯⎯⎯

It's Monday now.

I'm not happy. Kai snuck out last night and hasn't been back since. I mean not that I care but he could've been a little more quiet while sneaking out, right?

My phone dings and I walk over to see a text from my brother.

My brother dropped out of boarding school around a year before I came.

It's the reason why I'm here. My dads goal is to keep us separated.

'Hey sis. What class do you have first?' It reads.

I walk over to my desk and grab my schedule.

English.

I sigh and reply back.

'Oof'

I turn off my phone and walk over to my closet to put on my school uniform.

I put on my black pleated skirt and a white blouse long sleeve blouse. I keep it untucked since having it tucked in is very uncomfortable.

The blouse is a little big on me and covers a bit of skirt but it's cute I guess. The dress code forbids colored shoes so I'm stuck with my black converse on a daily basis.

I grab my bag and head out the door, saying by to Pebbles in the process.

I know Kai doesn't have a key because I have both keys on my keychain.

Hehe.

I lock the door so he can't get it.

That'll show him.

I walk down the stairs and towards the elevators, praying I don't run into anyone.

After exiting the elevators I make my way to the bus stop where I get on the big green bus.

The bus ride is the same as it always is. We stop by the other dormitories and then finally continue onto school.

I rush my way to my locker to grab my English textbook and then speed walk to class so I'm not late.

I make it into class at 9:01 instead of 9.

Oh shit.

"Miss Winters, why are you late?" Mr. Sanchez says in front of the whole class.

"I um got held up at my locker," I lie.

"Please speak to me after class," He says and the whole class snickers.

I sink into my chair, biting my lip to keep from crying.

I bounce my knee.

I grab my metal water bottle from my bag and accidentally knock it off my desk.
