I'm gonna throw up. I'm gonna die. I'm gonna cry.
What in the heck is wrong with me?
I stand in the bright, sunlit room, my heart racing with a mix of excitement and nervousness. The delicate scent of fresh flowers fills the air, and everything feels almost surreal.
Today is my wedding day.
Bailey bustles around, her energy infectious as she organizes last-minute details. I catch her eye and smile; we've shared so much over the years, and now we're both stepping into new chapters of our lives.
"Okay, let's get you into that dress!" she exclaims, lifting the stunning gown off its hanger. The fabric shimmers in the light, and I can't help but feel a rush of joy as I slip it on.
Bailey helps me fasten the delicate buttons, her hands steady but her excitement palpable. "You look amazing," she says, stepping back to admire me. I turn slightly, taking in my reflection. The dress fits perfectly, hugging my curves while the lace flows elegantly to the floor.
As I catch sight of the veil draped over the nearby chair, I feel a mix of emotions swell within me. I'm about to become someone's wife. The thought sends butterflies fluttering in my stomach.
Bailey pulls out the makeup kit and starts applying a soft glow to my cheeks. "Just a little more blush," she says with a grin. "You need to look radiant when Kai sees you."
I laugh, the sound mingling with my nerves. "Do you think he'll cry?"
"Definitely," she replies, her eyes sparkling. "And you'll be a vision he won't forget."
"You really look amazing, Leighton," Payton says, giving me a warm smile. "I can't wait to see Kai's face when he sees you."
"Thanks, Pay," I reply, feeling the love from my little sister wrap around me like a cozy blanket. "You've grown up so much. I can hardly believe you're 21!"
"I know, right?" she laughs, flipping her hair over her shoulder. "But today's not about me. It's all about you!"
Payton jumps up and down, her excitement bubbling over. "I just can't believe you're getting married. Oh my fuck!"
"Payton!" I laugh.
"Sorry, Old lady," She smiles through tears.
"Almost ready!" Marissa says, checking her watch. "Let's do a quick final look, everyone."
I take a deep breath, surrounded by Bailey, Payton, and Marissa. The love and support in this room fill me with warmth. Bailey takes a step back, her eyes shining with tears of joy. "You're absolutely breathtaking, Leighton. I can't believe this day is finally here."
