I hum the lyrics to some spanish song in that's popular on social media as I walk through the halls.

I'm weaving through the crowd, trying to keep my thoughts on the upcoming quiz, but my mind keeps drifting to Kai.

It's like I can still feel his arms around me, the warmth of his body lingering in my memory.

God what is wrong with me.

Oh my jesus am I dying?!

I finally make it to my first class and slide into a seat near the back, hoping to go unnoticed.

Bailey's not in this one, so it's just me, my notes, and my thoughts.

Mrs. Alice starts the lecture, but the words barely register.

I keep replaying last night in my head—the way Kai looked at me, the way he kissed me like he'd been waiting forever to do it.

We've kissed before so I don't know.

When the class finally ends, I gather my things and head out, my feet moving on autopilot toward my next class.

I'm halfway down the hallway when I spot him.

Kai's leaning against the wall near one of the classrooms, his eyes scanning the crowd. His lee es are rolled up and I see his gorgeous tattoos.

His hair is styled currently but he still looks beautiful. His tattoos are no where similar to mine.

I have sweet tattoos and hes got... death.

The second he sees me, his whole face lights up.

Awwww.

I feel my heart skip a beat as I make my way toward him, unable to stop the smile spreading across my face.

He pushes off the wall and meets me halfway, his stride confident and easy.

"Hey, you," he says, his voice low and warm as he steps closer.

"Hey, you," I copy, trying to sound casual, but my pulse is racing.

Without missing a beat, he slips an arm around my waist and pulls me in for a quick kiss, right there in the middle of the hallway.

It's not a long kiss, just a brief brush of his lips against mine, but it's enough to send a spark through me.

I can feel the stares from the other students, the whispers starting to spread.

I really shouldn't care but my brain starts overthinking.

They hate me.

I shouldn't have dated him.

"Hey hey, it's okay."

"You know, people are going to start talking."

"Let them," Kai says, his eyes gleaming with that familiar mischievous glint. "I don't care and neither should you"
