They said Ren x Martyn (From a previous chapter of me asking)

It's not exactly 3rd life, even though I asked it to do that, but it is more desolate and lonely

-----

In the depths of the decaying cityscape, where shadows stretched long and ominous, Ren and Martyn found themselves trapped. The once vibrant buildings now stood as silent witnesses to their struggle for survival.

Martyn leaned against a crumbling wall, his breaths shallow and labored. Blood seeped through his fingers where a stray arrow had found its mark. Ren knelt beside him, hands trembling as he tried to staunch the bleeding.

"You'll be alright," Ren murmured, more to himself than to Martyn, who gazed up at him with pain-filled eyes. "We just need to find a way out."

But the city seemed to conspire against them, every alleyway leading to dead ends or ambushes by those who sought their downfall. They had trusted too much, believed too deeply in alliances that now lay shattered around them.

"I can't feel my legs," Martyn confessed, voice barely audible over the distant echoes of chaos. "Ren, I think this is it."

Ren's heart clenched with anguish, fingers fumbling over makeshift bandages that did little to stem the tide of red. "No," he protested weakly, tears mingling with the dirt on his cheeks. "You can't leave me like this."

Martyn managed a faint smile, fingertips brushing Ren's cheek with a tenderness that made the moment unbearable. "You were always the light in the darkness," he whispered, the words slipping away like the last breath of hope.

And as the city raged on, indifferent to their pain, Ren held Martyn close, his cries of despair swallowed by the relentless night. In that forsaken place, amidst the ruins of their shattered dreams, they found no solace—only the cruel embrace of fate's unyielding grip.

Ren wandered through the desolate remnants of the once-vibrant landscape, Martyn's final words echoing in his mind. Each step felt heavier than the last, the weight of his loss pressing down like an unforgiving burden. The world around him seemed to mock his pain, the ruins a constant reminder of his failure to protect the one he loved.

He stumbled upon a familiar clearing, the place where they had spent their last moments together. The memories came rushing back, each one a dagger to his heart. He could still see Martyn's smile, hear his laughter, feel his touch. But now, all that remained was an empty void.

Ren fell to his knees, the anguish too much to bear. "Why did you leave me?" he cried out to the unforgiving sky, the tears flowing freely. "Why did you have to go?"

His voice echoed through the empty air, unanswered and unheard. The silence that followed was deafening, a stark contrast to the turmoil within. Ren clenched his fists, the anger and sorrow mixing into a toxic brew. He slammed his hand against the ground, the pain a brief distraction from the ache in his heart.

Days turned into nights, and Ren found himself drifting through the wasteland, a ghost of his former self. He avoided the others, unable to face their pity or their questions. The loneliness became his constant companion, the shadows his only solace.

One night, as the moon hung low in the sky, Ren found himself back at the clearing. He collapsed to the ground, exhaustion and grief consuming him. "I'm sorry, Martyn," he whispered, the words barely audible. "I should have been stronger. I should have saved you."

A soft breeze rustled through the trees, and for a moment, Ren thought he heard Martyn's voice in the wind. "You were always the light in the darkness," it seemed to say, a cruel reminder of the hope that had been lost.

Ren's heart shattered anew, the pieces scattered like the ruins around him. He curled up on the cold ground, his body wracked with sobs. There was no escape from the pain, no relief from the sorrow. He was trapped in an endless cycle of despair, his soul forever scarred by the loss of the one person who had meant everything to him.

As the night stretched on, Ren's cries faded into the stillness. The world continued to turn, indifferent to his suffering. And in that forsaken place, where love had turned to ashes and hope had turned to dust, Ren was left to mourn alone, the darkness his only companion.
