Ya'll, this one gets kinda sad

TW! Yelling, crying

Scott and Jimmy had always been the couple everyone admired. Their marriage was the epitome of love and devotion, or so it seemed. When the Double Life game began, every participant was assigned a soulmate, someone with whom they would share their life force. Scott was eager to find out that his soulmate was Jimmy. It seemed perfect, like fate had reaffirmed their bond.

However, when the soulmates were revealed, Scott's heart sank. He wasn't Jimmy's soulmate. Jimmy was paired with Tango. At first, Scott tried to brush it off. It was just a game, after all. But the thought of Jimmy being connected to someone else gnawed at him, especially since Jimmy was so important to him.

Scott began to notice the little things. The way Jimmy would smile when he talked to Tango, the private jokes they seemed to share, the ease of their conversations. Scott's jealousy grew, fueled by his insecurities and the fear of losing Jimmy.

What Scott didn't know was that Tango was aromantic and asexual. Tango cherished Jimmy as a dear friend and soulmate, but he had no romantic or sexual interest in him. To Tango, Jimmy was a companion, someone to care for and protect, nothing more.

One evening, after a particularly rough day of watching Jimmy and Tango together, Scott couldn't take it anymore. In a fit of jealousy and anger, he confronted Jimmy.

"Why don't you just go be with Tango if you like him so much?" Scott spat, his eyes blazing with hurt and fury, tears slowly rolling down his cheeks.

Jimmy, taken aback, tried to explain. "Scott, it's not like that. Tango and I are just friends. He doesn't feel that way about me, and I don't feel that way about him. You're the one I love."

But Scott was too blinded by his jealousy to listen. In a heated moment, he pulled off his wedding ring and threw it to the ground. "Maybe we should just end this then," he said, his voice cracking with pain. He turned and walked away, leaving Jimmy standing there, tears streaming down his face.

Scott headed back to the base he shared with Cleo, his heart heavy with regret already seeping in. Cleo, seeing his distress, offered him a comforting presence. Scott confided in her, expressing his regret and confusion over what he'd just done.

Meanwhile, from Jimmy's point of view, he watched Scott walk away, feeling a deep sense of loss. Tears blurred his vision as he turned around, only to be enveloped in a comforting hug from Tango, who had witnessed the entire scene from a distance.

"Jimmy, I'm so sorry," Tango said softly, trying to comfort his friend. He guided Jimmy back inside their house at the ranch, letting him cry and vent his emotions. After Jimmy had calmed down a bit, Tango went back outside to retrieve Scott's discarded ring. He stored it in a safe place, hoping that one day it could be returned to its rightful owner.

Scott moved into a small house across from Cleo's, living alone and grappling with his emotions. Jimmy and Tango continued to live together, their bond growing stronger in friendship but never crossing the line into romance.

Everyone in the Double Life game knew who their soulmates were, and the dynamics were complex. But Scott couldn't shake the feeling of regret and the pain of his jealousy-driven actions. He watched from a distance as Jimmy and Tango navigated their partnership, wishing things could go back to how they were before.

The game continued, but the wound between Scott and Jimmy remained, a painful reminder of how jealousy and misunderstandings could unravel even the strongest of bonds.

I told you, it gets sad, I would also like to point out the fact that I don't ship Tango in any way, hence how I made him aroace in this little oneshot, but still had a bit of that angst with Scott x Jimmy and Tango just kinda existing-
