Prayer 165
Sunday Morning Prayer
Lord God, heavenly Father, in You, all things are new.
Today, I begin a new week, a new opportunity to see Your work in my life. As I look forward to what lies ahead, let me rejoice in the blessings of the past week. Remind me of the mercies You showed me, the gifts You gave me, and the ways You used me in Your service. With gratitude, I take with me that which was good and leave behind the mistakes, the sins, the flaws, and the failings that Your Son erased on the cross. As I stride into the new week before me, strengthen my heart to share Your love and my hands to do Your work in Jesus' name amen.

Prayer 166
Sunday Evening Prayer
With the setting of the sun on this Sunday evening, I prepare to close my eyes in rest knowing You, Father, have walked by my side since that same sun rose over the horizon. Throughout the day, while the sun travels the sky from rim to rim, You bless us with Your presence. The light of Your love chases away the shadows of doubt and fear, brightens our hearts, and shines onto our shoulders the joyful warmth of being wanted by You. As Your own Son rose from the grave, breaking the darkness, let me rise from my night's slumber, glowing with love for my neighbor and the knowledge that I am Your own, dear child in Jesus' name amen.

Prayer 167
Monday Morning Prayer
Father God, on Monday, people everywhere head to their warkplaces to begin their work week. Some of them spring joyfully to their assigned task, eager and confident. Others shuffle to work with unwilling feet, knowing a difficult task lies before them. Bless all who work with strength of body, clarity of mind, willingness of heart, and the knowledge that they bless others by their labor. Fill me with gratitude for the work of those around me and help me support and encourage them, whatever their role may be in Jesus' name amen.

Prayer 168
Monday Evening Prayer
Dearest Jesus, when the world grows dark, I look at my window and see not trees or houses but my own face reflected back at me. It's the face of someone You love.
Someone for whom You died. Today, the face in the window has smiled and frowned, sighed with weariness, and opened its eyes in hope. All the while, You have been by the side of that person I see in the window, loving and caring and drawing ever closer in all of his or her ups and downs. May others always see in my face a reflection of Your presence in my life, whatever comes my way amen.

Prayer 169
Tuesday Morning Prayer
Good morning, Lord Jesus, Thanks for starting my day with me. I wonder who I'll encounter on this Tuesday You've given me. All around me, people are going about their business-driving cars, standing in the checkout line, sitting in front of computers, talking with friends, watching television. I don't know how You watch over all of us at once! As You care for Your children everywhere, help me care about and care for the people who move into and out of my life. Help me see them as my brothers and sisters and help me show them the love You so freely gave me on the cross in Your name I pray amen.
