To do in spirit lowly All that may please you best.

Your thirst for my salvation procured my liberty.
Oh, love, beyond all telling, that led You to embrace

Your guilt the Lord will pardon and cover by His grace.
He comes for you procuring the peace of sin forgiv'n.

A light of consolations and blessèd hope to those who love the Lord's appearing.

Send forth Your beams so cheering
And guide us safely home.

Hymn 336: Lo! He Comes with Clouds Descending!
Text: Charles Wesley 1707-88
Music: Tune: Thomas Olivers, 1725-99; setting: Ralph Vaughan Williams, 1872-1958, alt.

Verse 1: Lo! He comes with clouds descending
Once for every sinner slain.
Thousand thousand saints attending
Swelling the triumph of His train.
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
Christ the Lord returns to reign.

Verse 2: Ev'ry eye shall now behold Him
Robed in glorious Majesty
Those who set at naught and sold Him
Pierced and nailed Him to the tree.
Deeply wailing, deeply wailing, deeply wailing
Shall their true Messiah see.

Verse 3: Those dear tokens of His passion
Still His dazzling body bears
Cause of endless exultation
To His ransomed worshippers.
With what rapture, with what rapture, with what rapture
Gaze we on those glorious scars!

Verse 4: Yea, amen, let all adore Thee
High on Thine eternal throne
Savior take the pow'r and glory
Claim the kingdom as Thine own.
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
Thou shalt reign and Thou alone!
