Oh okay I got front row funky trivia for all my Christian friends out there Song 31's title in the current hymnal I am looking at is called The Blues Kyrie, but I don't believe this title.
Because the phrase "Lord have mercy" is a Kyrie found at the very beginning pages of every hymnal I have ever seen even this one. This might have add ons but using Lord Have Mercy phase still means it is the Lord Have Mercy Kyrie
Verse 1: Lord, have mercy on your people,
Christ, have mercy on your people,
Lord, have mercy on all people,
In your mercy, Lord, hear our prayer.
Verse 2: On your churches, Lord, have mercy,
On this planet, Christ, have mercy,
On all races, Lord, have mercy,
In your mercy, Lord, hear our prayer.
Verse 3: On the broken, Lord, have mercy,
On the hungry, Christ, have mercy,
On the lonely, Lord, have mercy,
In your mercy, Lord, hear our prayer.
Verse 4: Lord, have mercy on your people,
Christ, have mercy on your people,
Lord have mercy on all people
In your mercy, Lord, hear our prayer."
I do not know why this hymnal gave the Kyrie song a fake title "Blues' Kyrie." It is not a song about the Blues because when we sing this we lift our burdens unto the Lord._Lumna10.
