Prayer 190
Before Surgery: Lord, You made our bodies so beautifully.
Their every movement, every breath, and every heartbeat is a miracle. Bless the hands of the medical workers into whose care You have placed this body You created. And bless this child of Yours during and after the surgery ahead. According to Your will, bless this miraculous body with healing, even as Your Son healed our souls with His body on the cross in Jesus' name amen.Prayer 191
After Surgery: God of mercy, I thank You for the gift of medicine. I thank You for surgeons and doctors who work as Your hands to bring healing and care to my earthly body. In this time of recovery after surgery, I ask that You continue to provide care. Heal me and all who are in recovery so that we can return to our vocations and love and serve others in peace in Jesus' name amen.Prayer 192
Thanksgiving for Recovery of Health: Healing Lord, thank You for the new measure of health I have today. Thank You for hearing my prayers and the prayers of others who prayed for me. Your mercy and healing power have brought me new relief. Please continue to watch over me. Remind me of Your promises of care. Guard my health so that, according to Your will, I can continue to be free from the illness of the past in Jesus' name amen.Prayer 193
By One Suffering Chronic Illness; Loving Savior, I have so often asked for healing. You know my weakness and my needs as the pain has returned today. Give me strength and a new measure of healing according to Your will. Give me patience and trust in You even as the pain continues. Also guide me through the many decisions I must make. I thank You for Your presence with me even today amen.Prayer 194
By the Homebound: Jesus, You prepare for us a home in heaven, a home to which You will someday call us as Your brothers and sisters. For many people, home represents welcome, comfort, and peace. But right now, I can't easily leave my home. Sometimes that gets frustrating. When I grow discouraged in this place, fill me with Your peace and remind me that my true home is with You amen.Prayer 195
For Those with Special Needs (Physical, Mental, Emotional): Holy Lord Jesus, as we live in this world, broken by sin, be with those who experience special needs of body, mind, or emotions. Care for them in their distinct experiences and give them guidance in their minds and actions by Your Word. Use the community of Your church to come alongside them and show them that they are part of Your people, too, by grace through faith in You the Christ amen.Prayer 197
For Caregivers: Heavenly Father, thank You for those who care for others who are in need. Thank You for their energy and love. Supply them with the wisdom needed for the many decisions they have to make. Let them share Your Word and promises. Build a bond between the caregivers and those for whom they care. Let the love they share reflect Your love for all people in Jesus' name amen.Prayer 198
By One Who Is Dying: Heavenly Father, hold me tightly in Your loving hand. As my time on earth grows short, keep me in true faith in You. According to Your will, reduce my pain and give me peace as I rest in Your promises. At the time You know best, call me home to You. Lift my spirit to You so that I may experience new life in heaven with You in Jesus' name amen.Prayer 199
At the Time of Death: Lord Jesus, You came to this world to live and die for the forgiveness of our sins. You rose from the dead to overcome death for us. Remind me of Your great promise to me, that even though I will die, I will live with You. Strengthen my faith by Your Spirit, that I may not doubt Your faithfulness but rejoice in Your love for me both now and forever amen.
