Song 11: Jesus Saves Lyrics below
Writer: P. J. Owens
Composer: W. J. KirkpatrickJesus Saves!
Verse 1: We have heard the joyful sound;
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Spread the tidings all around;
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Bear the news to every land,
Climb the steeps and cross the waves.
Onward! 'Tis our Lord's command.
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!Verse 2: Waft it on the rolling tide
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Tell to sinner far and wide;
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Sing, ye islands of the sea,
Echo back, ye ocean caves!
Earth shall keep her jubilee!
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!Verse 3: Sing above the battle strife;
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
By His death and endless life;
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Sing it softly through the gloom,
When the heart for mercy craves.
Sing in triumph o'er the tomb;
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!Verse 4: Give the winds a mighty voice;
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Let the nations now rejoice;
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Shout salvation full and free,
Highest hills and deepest caves!
This our song of victory;
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!Song 12: Oh Sinner Man
Traditional Spiritual Song out of all Christian songs in the hymnal I recently acquired that I didn't have before this one needs a major rewrite for one of the verses because its one verse goes against the Parable of the House built on Sinking Sand vs the House built on standing rock. —Lumna10.Verse 1: Oh, sinner man, where you gonna run to?
Oh, sinner man, where you gonna run to?
Oh, sinner man, where you gonna run to?
All on that day?Verse 2: (This is the worst verse in a Christian song I have ever seen in my entire Christian life. Jesus is a rock for us who will never melt. So why the heck use the word "a-meltin'" three times in no way does agree with the bible. And reality check in real life rock is extremely stubborn to melt too. So not only does it not agree with the Biblical texts in the Books where talks about rocks surviving massive flames in order to convince people they've sinned but it also doesn't agree with the real fact that scientists will tell you stones have an extremely high melting pointing. This was inconsistent praise worship of someone from someone who was most likely a shallow Christian believer and did not thoroughly study context or consistency throughout the bible a false witness and a hypocrite too. —Lumna10. WinxDynamix Maybe you would want to rewrite this supposed traditional spiritual song in your book with more accurate words. In my opinion this song stays too sad and it needs an appropriate chorus encouraging people to run to God. —Lumna10.)
Run to the rock, rock was a- meltin',Run to the rock, rock was a- meltin'
Run to the rock, rock was a-meltin',
All on that day •Verse 3: Run to the sea, sea was a-boilin',
Run to the sea, sea was a-boilin'
Run to the sea, sea was a-boilin',
All on that day.
Verse 4: Run to the moon, moon was a-bleedin',
Run to the moon, moon was a-bleedin'
Run to the moon, moon was a-bleedin',
All on that day.
Verse 4: (This is also false testimony no one considering Believing in Christ should ever think of listening to or turning to the Devil. —Lumna10.)
Run to the devil, devil was a-waitin',Run to the devil, devil was a-waitin'
Run to the devil, devil was a-waitin'
All on that day.
Verse 5: Run to the Lord, "Lord, won't you hide me ?"
Run to the Lord, "Lord, won't you hide me?"
Run to the Lord, "Lord, won't you hide me ?"
All on that day.Verse 6: (This verse is also not true, the word ought is insulting and forceful and commanding. And Jesus never commanded or forced anything even the Disciples had a choice to say no to Him and they didn't say no. _Lumna10.)
Oh, sinner man, you ought-a been a-prayin',
Oh, sinner man, you ought-a been a-prayin',
Oh, sinner man, you ought-a been a-prayin', All on that day.
Glad this song has been analyzed it deserves no less than 1.5 stars in being a meh okay song of praise and worship for all the lies told within it unfortunately! It deeply disgusts me this was even written in a hymnal for the sake of God this isn't what God would want us to write about let alone sing it. There was no heart unified with this person's mind to lead them to the right mind and heart Jesus really wants us to have. I can clearly say with a clear conscience they were definitely not in tune with walking with the Holy Spirit.
