Donghyuck's POV

The wind whipped past Donghyuck's face, the booming of their engines echoed in the silent night. Seohyun zoomed past him, her smug look barely visible through the blur of motion.

She wants to race, huh!

His grip tightened on the handlebars as he accelerated, determined not to let her out of his sight.

"This isn't a game, Sweetheart!" he shouted over the noise, his voice lost in the wind.

She didn't respond, but he could see the glint of defiance in her eyes. It only fueled his frustration.

Does she ever listen?
How could she be so reckless?

She slowed down as they approached the mansion's gates, and he followed suit, albeit reluctantly.

Fuck!

As soon as they parked in the garage, she pointed at his chest, her words like daggers. "You are no match against me."

He caught up to her as she hurried inside, his steps mirroring her fast pace. "You know there's a very thin line between confidence and overconfidence, right?"

Donghyuck's voice reeked venom, his irritation barely contained.

"Not thinner than your chances to win against me," she smirked, her eyes daring him to argue.

What does she even think of herself?

Donghyuck was tempted to throw a snarky remark and put the girl in her place, but it was too risky to pick another fight with her, atleast in the confines of their home.

"In your dreams, darling," he said the simple words, ending their conversation as he headed for Renjun's room.

He used the stairs to climb up to the first floor, Seohyun's words about strengthening his lower limbs ringing in head.

"The more you exert yourself, within limits, the faster you will recover," she had said while they were returning home after she had found him smoking in the alley.

Donghyuck hated to admit it, but she was right. And honestly, he would do anything to be back on missions and show Seohyun who was the boss.

It's only for my benefit.

However, as soon as he reached the end of the flight, he was reminded of the letter and it's contents. Abandoning his previous destination, Donghyuck turned on his heels and rushed toward Mark's room downstairs.

Each of his step was filled with determination to unmask Seohyun's intentions. He had to tell Mark about her going to the Crimson Lounge and the Southern Dockyard.
