Cameron helped Eli transform, and now he was being called Hawk by everyone—even Cameron. She thought it was pretty badass how he had embraced his new identity with such confidence. When Cameron got home that night, she found her dad in the living room, teaching Robby—her ex-boyfriend—how to fight using kata. The sight made her blood boil. She stormed out of the house before she could say anything she'd regret and headed straight to Arabella's place to sleep over. Cameron hadn't been home since that night.
Now, Cameron stood in the Cobra Kai dojo beside Arabella and Hawk, ready for their latest training session. "Junbi!" Sensei Lawrence yelled, his voice echoing through the room. "Bow," he commanded, and everyone bowed respectfully. "Fighting positions!" he shouted, and the students quickly assumed their stances.
Sensei Lawrence walked around the room, scrutinizing everyone's form. He stopped at Arabella and adjusted her elbows, ensuring her stance was perfect. Moving on, he noticed Hawk's foot placement and gave it a quick kick. Hawk grunted but immediately corrected his stance. "Stabilize your base, Hawk," Sensei Lawrence reminded him, demonstrating the proper form. "Keep your balance. Full rotation when you strike," he explained.
"Yes, Sensei. Hai!" Hawk yelled, punching the air with renewed vigor.
As Sensei Lawrence turned to observe the rest of the class, he noticed a kid beside Arabella flinch. Cameron and Arabella exchanged glances, barely stifling their laughter. This wasn't going to end well for the poor kid.
"Did you just flinch, Virgin?" Sensei Lawrence questioned with a mocking tone. Arabella and Cameron struggled to keep their composure, the nickname catching them off guard. Sensei Lawrence stared at the kid for a moment before turning to another student and faking a punch. The student flinched, and Sensei Lawrence's disbelief was palpable. "Holy shit. We got a room full of flinchers," he said, shaking his head.
"Yes, Sensei!" the class responded in unison.
"That was not a question!" Sensei Lawrence barked. "Raise your hand if you've never been punched in the face." Almost everyone, except Cameron, Aisha, and Miguel, raised their hands. Cameron thought back to when her sister, Sam, had accidentally punched her while they were playing as kids.
"Put your hands down. All your lives, you've been avoiding fights so you don't break your nose or lose a tooth. This concussion nonsense. So, there's only one solution: before you leave this dojo, each and every one of you is gonna take a punch, very hard, to the face. Camden, Ms. Robinson. Line 'em up! Unflinch this group," Sensei Lawrence announced.
