It had been a month since Hawk switched sides, and Cameron still couldn't shake the feeling that everything had fallen apart. She had stayed away from Cobra Kai, not just because of the mess at her house, but because everything had become too complicated. After that disastrous Christmas fight, the last thing she wanted was to face anyone, especially Robby. The way things had spiraled between them... it hurt too much to even think about.
Cameron had been living in a homeless shelter since her dad kicked her out. She didn't like to admit that to anyone, but that was the reality of it. After destroying the house, there was no coming back from that. Her father didn't want her there anymore. The relationship was broken, and there was no fixing it. He had made that perfectly clear when he'd told her to leave, after the destruction, the yelling, the chaos.
That night, Cameron had found herself tangled in a fight with some guys at the shelter-guys who had been pushing her buttons for days. She didn't even care that it had turned into a full-on brawl. She wasn't proud of it, but she wasn't going to back down either. When the staff finally broke it up, she was escorted out, her duffle bag clutched tightly in her hand. She didn't even stop to grab her stuff from the room. She didn't care.
Now, here she was, standing in front of her car on the side of the road, the cold air biting through her jacket. Her fists were still tight from the fight, her body aching from the adrenaline that had surged through her when everything went down. She reached down and grabbed the duffle bag, throwing it onto the nearby railing with a force that made it bounce. The tension in her shoulders didn't dissipate, and in frustration, she kicked the door of the car with all the force she could muster. The metal echoed under her foot, a dull thud that made her teeth clench.
"Stupid fucking life," she muttered through gritted teeth, her breath visible in the cold air. It felt like everything was crumbling around her. The life she had known, the people she'd trusted, all of it was gone now.
And then, like some cruel joke, she heard a voice.
"Cameron?"
She froze, her heart skipping a beat as her head snapped toward the voice. She didn't need to turn around to know who it was. She had heard that voice enough times to recognize it. But she did anyway, slowly. Luna stood a few feet away, arms crossed, her expression hard to read. Cameron's gut twisted. Luna. Her ex-friend. A reminder of everything she'd lost when she left Miyagi-Do behind.
Luna's stance was firm but not threatening, just... waiting. But Cameron could feel the judgment in the air, the unspoken disapproval. She wasn't in the mood for any of it.
