Cameron was completely lost in the moment, her fingers tangled in Eli's hair as their bodies pressed together on the couch. The heat between them was intoxicating, their breaths mingling, the soft sounds of their kissing filling the otherwise quiet apartment. Her hoodie had been tossed somewhere on the floor, forgotten, leaving her in just her bra and jeans. Eli's hands roamed along her bare waist, sending shivers through her as she arched into him, her own fingers tracing the familiar ridges of his jaw.

Neither of them heard the apartment door unlock.

Neither of them heard it open.

It wasn't until the sound of someone clearing their throat-loud, sharp, authoritative-cut through the air like a knife that Cameron froze.

Eli pulled back slightly, lips still brushing hers, his brows furrowed in confusion at her sudden stiffness. But then Cameron's head snapped toward the door, and the second her eyes landed on the figure standing there, her stomach dropped.

Amanda LaRusso.

Arms crossed. Expression unreadable.

Oh. My. God.

Cameron felt her entire body go up in flames as a mortified heat rushed to her face. Her brain short-circuited, scrambling to process what was happening.

"Get up. Pack a bag," Amanda said, her voice clipped and unforgiving.

Cameron moved so fast she nearly fell off the couch. "M-Mom!" she sputtered, yanking Eli's hoodie off the floor and frantically pulling it over her head, nearly getting tangled in the sleeves in her rush to cover herself. "I-uh-what are you-?"

Amanda's gaze didn't waver. "You, Sam, and Anthony are coming with me to Ohio to visit Aunt Jessica."

Cameron blinked. "Wait, what?"

Eli, still sitting on the couch, looked just as confused, shifting uncomfortably as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Uh... okay? Since when?"

"Since right now."
