The bar was dimly lit, packed with the thrum of low music, laughter, and the buzz of late-night conversations. Cameron LaRusso stepped through the door, pausing only a moment to glance around the crowded room. Her combat boots hit the floor with purpose, shoulders straight, dark hair tucked behind one ear as she moved through the crowd, keeping her expression unreadable.
Cobra Kai had taken over one corner of the place-Kenny, Kyler, and Kwon perched around a high table with a few of the newer recruits. All posturing and overconfidence, feeding off each other. Cameron wasn't there for them. She hadn't even wanted to come out tonight, but Miguel and Eli had talked about keeping tabs on Cobra Kai since they'd touched down in Barcelona, and someone had to do it.
She made her way to the bar, sliding into the space left by a group that had just left. The bartender glanced at her, and she lifted a hand. "Agua con gas," she said, keeping it simple.
But she hadn't even gotten her drink before Kwon appeared beside her, a smug grin plastered on his face.
"Well, well. LaRusso out in the wild. I didn't know you had it in you."
Cameron didn't look at him at first. Just raised the glass to her lips and took a sip. "Try again, Kwon. That line's dead on arrival."
He laughed. "Relax. Just making conversation. It's not every day I see you without your little karate clique breathing down your neck."
"I breathe just fine on my own," she replied dryly.
"You sure? 'Cause you look a little tense. You want a drink-something stronger?"
Cameron turned her head now, eyes sharp. "No. And you can stop trying."
Kwon leaned in slightly, that same smirk on his face. "Come on. We're not on the mat right now. I'm just trying to be friendly."
