The soft blue glow from the tanks lit up Cameron's face, casting shadows under her eyes. She stood alone in front of the giant jellyfish display at the Barcelona Aquarium, arms crossed tightly over her chest. All around her, tourists milled and laughed and snapped photos, and behind her, the rest of the karate team posed for the group captain shot near the shark tunnel. Everyone was beaming-Sam, Hawk, Devon, even Kenny on the other side.

But Cameron didn't join.

She didn't want to fake it.

She didn't want to stand shoulder to shoulder with people who were pretending everything was fine when it wasn't.

Her fingers tightened around the hem of her hoodie. The jellyfish drifted slowly, their long tendrils curling like silk underwater. Cameron felt that familiar weight in her chest-the one that had been following her since they landed in Spain. Since Kreese cornered her after practice and whispered all those things she didn't want to believe but couldn't stop thinking about.

"You're not Daniel's golden child. You're just the shadow."
"She'll always pick Sam."
"Why fight for people who won't fight for you?"

She heard footsteps behind her but didn't turn. She knew them by heart.

"Hey."

Cameron tensed. "Hey," she said quietly, still watching the tank.

Robby stepped beside her, hands in his pockets. His eyes reflected the light of the tank. "You missed the photo."

"I know."

"You were supposed to be in it," he said. "You're still one of the captains, remember?"

She shrugged. "Didn't feel like it."

There was a pause. The tension between them wasn't new-but it was heavier now. Since Cameron switched sides. Again.

Robby cleared his throat. "Why'd you do it?"
