The sun blazed down on the beach as the group's laughter and banter filled the air, their game of beach volleyball turning more into a playful exchange of words than anything serious. Cameron and Hawk stood on one side of the net, getting into position as they shared a quick, playful wink. On the other side, Demetri prepared to serve, but as soon as the ball left his hand, it hit the net with a dull thud.
Cameron and Arabella exchanged amused glances, chuckling softly.
Hawk groaned, shooting Demetri an annoyed look. "Mulligan, send it back," he said, clearly not impressed.
Demetri shrugged, backing up. "There's no mulligans in volleyball," Hawk retorted sharply.
"Says you," Demetri shot back, his voice laced with a hint of defiance. He then threw his hands up, "Water break!" Without waiting for a response, he turned and walked toward his bag, leaving the others standing in the sand.
Arabella rolled her eyes dramatically. "I seriously think you need to join Cobra Kai, Dem. You need some muscles," she teased, nudging Hawk with a smirk. Hawk, still slightly annoyed, nodded in agreement.
As Demetri ignored them, casually tossing a towel over his shoulder, a group of girls passed by, catching his attention. "Cobra Kai? You guys won that karate tournament, right?" one of the girls asked, clearly interested.
Demetri's eyes widened, an opportunity presenting itself. "Um... The All Valley? The Rumble in Reseda? Yes, uh..." He leaned nonchalantly against the volleyball pole. "We, uh, certainly did," he lied with a confident grin, as if he had been part of the victorious Cobra Kai squad all along.
Cameron scoffed, stepping forward with a smirk. "Sorry, ladies. He's lying," she said with a light chuckle, flashing them a polite smile. The girls giggled, giving Demetri a quick glance before walking off.
Moon frowned slightly, her tone cheery but with a hint of disapproval. "Cam, that wasn't nice."
Cameron just shrugged it off, and Hawk slung his arm around her. "Cam and Bella are right, though. It'd be nice if you earned the Cobra Kai cred you're so eager to take. When are you ever gonna sign up?" Hawk teased.
Arabella crossed her arms, joining Demetri's side. "Yeah, D. You've been riding the wave long enough."
Demetri sighed, the pressure building. "I don't know. I'm kind of enjoying the gain without the pain," he said with a nonchalant shrug, his usual dry wit breaking through.
