Jacqueline was about 8 months pregnant when the Pevensies caught wind of the White Stag in the Western Wood.
She wanted to come with on their hunt but Edmund insisted she stay home. He didn't want to risk anything happening to her or his children, so he also insisted that Genevieve stay back with her mother.
"I wanna come with," Genevieve pouted.
"Oh angel, it's going to be so boring, you wouldn't want to come anyway," her father told her.
"If it's gonna be boring then how come all of you guys get to go?"
"Genevieve, sweetheart, I know it doesn't seem fair, but there are some things that we can't do because of our age or physical situation," her mother tried to sympathize with her. "I wish I could go too, but with your siblings in here I can't," she gestured at her stomach. "Think about it this way, while they are off doing whatever, we are going to be here having so much fun together, just you and me."
"Your mum's right, you are going to have the best time together, and you'll barely even notice we're gone," Peter said.
"Fine, I guess," Genevieve grumbled.
"Alright, now you be good for your mother while I'm gone, alright?" Edmund said, hugging his daughter tightly. "Uncle Pete and I can play swords with you when we get back."
"Okay!" She said more cheerfully.
"That's more like it. Goodbye my loves, I love you all so much," Edmund told his pregnant wife and daughter. He knelt down to place a kiss on Genevieve's forehead and on Jacqueline's baby bump. "You two stay in there, I don't want to miss getting to meet you for the first time," he whispered to the babies in his wife's womb. She chuckled when she heard his words.
"Then you better not be gone too long, because they're getting more ready each day to come out," she told him.
"You've still got a couple weeks, don't you?"
"Edmund, I don't know if you understand how pregnancy works. The babies will come when they're ready, they don't have a set schedule. They could come in a few weeks or they could come tomorrow, it's all up to them now."
"Well don't let them come till I'm back," he joked.
"Sure Eddie, I'll try to hold off my labour for you," Jacqueline replied with a smirk. Edmund gently wrapped his arms around her frame, resting his hands on her back. "I love you Eddie," she whispered as he drew closer to her face.
"I love you too Jacqueline," he sighed softly as their lips connected in a sweet goodbye kiss. He let his wife go and knelt again to hug his daughter tightly. "I love you Genevieve, I'll see you soon."
"Alright Genevieve, go say goodbye to your aunties and uncle," Jacqueline prompted her daughter after Edmund let her go.
The young girl ran up to Lucy who was waiting with her arms outstretched. "Goodbye Auntie Lulu!" Jacqueline and Genevieve were the only people who called Lucy 'Lulu'.
