Edmund's POV

I heard Smumbleshy tell Jacqueline it was time for her to start pushing.

She did as she was instructed and with each push she squeezed my hand a little tighter. I thought my hand was going to fall off when our first son was finally born.

Smumbleshy wrapped my baby boy in a clean blanket. "Would you like to hold him?" She asked us. I assumed she was talking to Jackie, but my beautiful wife looked so tired. Even drenched in sweat with blood and other discharge running out from between her legs I thought she looked like the most beautiful woman in the world. She looked at me expectantly and so did Smumbleshy. I suppose they didn't want to risk the first baby getting hurt once the second one started coming.

I have a son, I can't believe it. I took the bundle from the faun's outstretched hands. I held him carefully in my arms and moved the blanket away from his face so I could see my son.

I saw my wife smiling lovingly at me holding our son.

"Do you have a name in mind?" The faun midwife asked us.

Jacqueline was the one to answer. "His name is Sebastian Elliot Pevensie." I could see the pure joy in her eyes, my newborn son seemed to have the same light my wife possessed.

I smiled down at my child. "Hello Sebastian," I said to him. "We're your parents. I'm your dad." I knew I was in love the moment I saw my son, and now holding him in my arms I never wanted to let him go.

The moment I was having with my son was interrupted by my wife groaning in pain as another wave of contractions hit her. I handed Sebastian to Sufak so I could focus on being there for my wife. Smumbleshy instructed Jacqueline to push again. It pained me to hear her cries, knowing I was the reason she was going through this pain. I was the one who got her pregnant after all.

Our second son was born not too long after his brother. Jacqueline looked relieved to be done with the ordeal of giving birth. I was so proud of her. I love her more than anything, except maybe our children.

Smumbleshy wrapped our second baby boy up in a blanket and handed him to Jacqueline. Sufak went to grab Sebastian so he could meet his brother outside of the womb for the first time.

My sons were not identical, but they did both share their dark hair with Jacqueline and I. It appeared as though they had my nose as well.

"Liam, his name is going to be Liam Adrian Pevensie," Jackie said tiredly as she gazed at the newborn in her arms.

Suddenly I noticed Jacqueline was starting to grow paler by the minute. "S-something isn't r-right," she stammered out as her eyelids began to flutter shut.

"No! No no no no no, I can't lose you again," I was growing more frantic as I saw my wife drifting off. "Someone get Lucy! Quickly! Lucy!" I yelled from where I stood. Smumbleshy and Sufak took our sons away and they placed them down in the crib we'd had made during the golden age so that they could focus on saving my wife.
