Susan cornered the young parents when Genevieve was about one month old.

"How are we going to present the young princess to the Narnians?" She asked her brother and sister-in-law. "I was thinking we should throw a ball."

"What is it with you and balls? Seriously Jackie, shut up," Edmund said, his wife had started giggling at his word choice.

"Eddie, come on, you set yourself up for that one."

"Remind me why I married you again? Because it certainly wasn't for your crude humor."

"You know you love me," Jacqueline replied with a cheeky smile.

"Do I know that?" He paused for a second. "Yes, yes I do." He smirked and kissed his wife happily.

Susan cleared her throat, bringing them back to the matter at hand.

"Come on, I think it would be a great way to introduce her to the kingdom where we could have some fun also," Susan tried to convince them.

"Fun?" Edmund asked in disbelief. "What ever gave you the idea that I thought balls were fun?"

"Well I enjoy them, and so do many of the Narnians. Jacqueline, can you please back me up here?"

"I'm sorry, Su, but I'm gonna have to agree with Eddie. Do you know the amount of drama that goes down at your balls?"

"Drama? There's no drama," Susan scoffed.

"No drama? What about the time when I got slapped in the face by a stuck up princess? Ooh, or the time when Jackie was literally kidnapped?"

"But didn't that whole incident result in you two admitting your feelings for each other and getting together?"

Jacqueline and Edmund both shot her a look. Susan gave her best 'pleading puppy dog' look. Jacqueline rolled her eyes and let out an exasperated sigh.

"Oh fine, on one condition: Eddie, Gen and I can leave as soon as we get tired of being there. It's exhausting having a newborn baby and we need all the sleep we can get. And I'm still recovering from giving birth. Oh and we're allowed to keep to ourselves if we need to."

"Yes! Okay, I've got so much planning to do!" Susan exclaimed excitedly. "If you and Ed need a break and Gen seems like she's still fine with it then Peter, Lucy or I can take over with her for a bit while you guys step away. Oh I promise you won't regret this! It's going to be so fun!" She rushed off to her room to begin—or more likely continue—planning.

"What have you done?" Edmund asked his wife.

"She wasn't going to let up any time soon, I just spared us from some of her begging." She saw the look in his eyes and said, "oh what's the harm? She agreed to let us sneak away whenever we want and retire early when Gen's had enough socializing."
