Ashwin woke up with a sense of determination. He knew he had to take action to protect Sivaangi from the unknown threat.
After getting ready, he reached for his phone and dialed Sivaangi's number. He waited for her to pick up, but the call went straight to voicemail. Ashwin's brow furrowed in concern. He tried calling her again, but there was no answer. He sent her a text message, "Hey sweetheart, good morning! Just wanted to check in on you. Call me when you find time." But there was no response. Ashwin's mind started racing with worst-case scenarios.
But he put those aside and got ready for his office and came out of his room.
As Ashwin entered the dining room, his family looked up at him with warm smiles. His father nodded at him. "Good morning, son."
His mother asked with a gentle smile, asked, "Ashwin, when did you came home last night?"
Ashwin took a seat next to his younger sister Aisha, who was busy scrolling through her phone. " I came very late mom. You all were slept so I didn't disturb you."
Aisha looked up at him with a mischievous grin. " Ennaku theriyum. Ivan en late ah vandhanu. Illa brother?"
His mother and father gave him a confused look.
Ashwin playfully ruffled her hair. "Adhellam edhum illama ava edho olarura. Neenga ennaku breakfast veinga pasikudhu." He said glaring at his sister.
At the moment his father cleared his throat, "Ashwin, we need to talk about the business meeting today. It's an important one."
Ashwin nodded, "I'm ready, Dad. I've prepared well."
His mother intervened, "Let's not talk about business at the breakfast table. We can discuss it later."
The family continued their breakfast, chatting about their daily plans. Ashwin couldn't help but feel grateful for this loving family, but his mind kept wandering back to Sivaangi and the mysterious messages.
______
As they stepped out of the elevator, his father trailed behind him.
As they walked towards their office, Ashwin's phone buzzed in his pocket. He discreetly checked the screen, hoping it wasn't another threatening message. But to his relief, it was a text from Sivaangi. "Good luck with your meeting today! Can't wait to see you later"
Ashwin smiled, feeling a sense of calm wash over him. He quickly typed out a response, "Thanks, sweetheart. Looking forward to seeing you too"
His father noticed the exchange and raised an eyebrow. "Everything okay, son?"
Ashwin nodded, "Yes, Father. Just a friend wishing me luck."
He nodded, though Ashwin could tell he was curious. "Let's focus on the meeting now. We have a lot to discuss."
_____
Then , Ashwin stood confidently at the head of the conference table, leading the discussion on the construction process and dessert menu selection. His team engaged in a lively brainstorming session, tossing around ideas for unique desserts and efficient construction methods.
Just as they were making progress, Ashwin's father excused himself to take an urgent call. He stepped out of the meeting room, leaving Ashwin to continue the discussion.
As the meeting drew to a close, Ashwin's father returned, looking concerned. "Ashwin, we need to end the meeting here. I want to speak with you"
Ashwin nodded, "Of course, Father. Let's wrap up."
As the team packed up their things and filed out of the meeting. But at that moment , Ashwin failed to notice that someone from his own team going behind his back. Their actions went unnoticed by Ashwin and his father, who were focused on wrapping up the meeting.
A hidden agenda was being discussed, and plans were being made to undermine their efforts. But for now, it remained a secret, hidden in the shadows.
_______
Ashwin's smile faltered as his father, entered his office with a concerned expression.
"Ashwin, we have a problem," his father said, his voice firm but worried. "I just received news that someone is trying to buy the sites we've already secured for the expansion. And to make matters worse, they're offering a higher price than we agreed upon."
Ashwin's eyes widened in shock. "What? But we're set to start construction in two days! We can't let someone swoop in and steal our plans."
His father nodded grimly. "I know. I'm trying to find out who's behind this, but it's not looking good. We need to act fast to protect our interests."
Ashwin's mind raced as he thought about the implications. If someone bought the sites, it would spoil their entire expansion plan and set them back months, maybe even years.
"We can't let that happen," Ashwin said, determination in his voice. "We need to find a way to secure those sites and move forward with the construction."
His father nodded in agreement. "I'll make some calls and see what we can do. But Ashwin, we need to be prepared for a fight. This could get ugly."
While Ashwin speaking with his father, his phone buzzed discreetly in his pocket. He pulled it out, expecting a work-related message or perhaps a response from Sivaangi.
But his blood ran cold as he read the text:
"I am watching over your little girlfriend".
"I must say she is so pretty".
"Don't worry, she will be in my hands soon".
Ashwin's eyes widened in horror as he read the sinister messages. His mind racing, he felt a chill run down his spine. Who was this person, and how did they know about Sivaangi? Did they harmed her ? He tried to push aside the fear and focus on the conversation with his father, but his thoughts were consumed by the ominous texts.
" What happened ashwin?" His father asked with worried expression.
"Nothing pa. Have to make a call. Please excuse me!"
Ashwin excused himself from the conversation and quickly dialed Sivaangi's number. But again, she didn't pick up. His worry grew, and he couldn't shake off the feeling that something was terribly wrong.
"Pa, I have an urgent work. Na poitu vandhudren. And then We can continue our conversation." He said without hesitation as he excused himself from his father, citing an urgent matter that required his attention.
His father nodded understandingly.
He hastily made his way to his car and drove towards Sivaangi's home, his heart racing with every passing moment. The sinister texts echoed in his mind, fueling his fear and determination to protect Sivaangi.
As he drove, Ashwin's thoughts were filled with worst-case scenarios. He couldn't bear the thought of anything happening to Sivaangi. He pushed the car to its limits, speeding through the streets, his eyes fixed on the road ahead. He had to reach her before it was too late.
" Sweetheart, please be safe." He chanted it like a mantra.
Ashwin's anxiety grew as he arrived at Sivaangi's workplace, only to be told that she hadn't shown up that day.
His mind racing with worst-case scenarios, he quickly made his way to her house, his heart sinking with every step.
He rang the doorbell, and Monisha opened the door. Without even exchanging greetings, Ashwin brushed past Monisha and rushed inside, his eyes scanning the room for any sign of Sivaangi.
"Where is she?" Ashwin demanded, his voice laced with worry.
Monisha, taken aback by Ashwin's urgency," Ashwin, what's wrong?"
Ashwin didn't respond, his focus solely on finding Sivaangi. He burst into her room.
