As the day wore on, the group decided to take a break and rest. Ashwin and Sivaangi, however, found themselves alone with their thoughts, each lost in their own world.
Sivaangi, exhausted from the emotional turmoil, eventually drifted off to sleep, her little brother and Monisha by her side.
Meanwhile, Ashwin lay in his bed, staring blankly at the ceiling. His mind raced with thoughts of Sivaangi, replaying their conversation, wondering what he could have done differently. He couldn't shake off the feeling of emptiness, the ache in his heart that seemed to grow with each passing moment.
Pugazh and Dharshan decided to headed home, leaving Ashwin and Sivaangi to their solitude.
Ashwin's gaze remained fixed on the ceiling, his mind consumed by thoughts of Sivaangi, when suddenly, his phone rang, shattering the silence. He hesitated for a moment before answering, his voice laced with a hint of distraction.
"Hey, Vikram."
Vikram's voice on the other end of the line broke through Ashwin's reverie. "Shreya wants to meet you. She's been asking for you."
Ashwin's thoughts faltered, his mind struggling to shift gears. "What? Why?"
Vikram's tone was neutral. "I don't know, man. She just said it's important. So, can we come over or not?"
Ashwin's instincts screamed at him to say no, to tell Vikram that he wasn't ready to face Shreya, not now, not when his heart was still reeling from Sivaangi's words. But something in Vikram's tone gave him pause, a hint of concern that made him hesitate.
"Yeah, come over," Ashwin said finally, his voice barely above a whisper.
As he hung up the phone, Ashwin couldn't shake off the feeling that his life was about to get even more complicated.
Thirty minutes passed, and Vikram and Shreya arrived at Ashwin's place. They exchanged greetings, and Ashwin ushered them into the living room. Vikram settled into a chair, his eyes fixed on some distant point, his expression unreadable.
Shreya and Vikram settled into the living room, Ashwin suddenly felt a sense of normalcy wash over him. He decided to be normal for the sake of shreya.
He smiled, feeling a glimmer of his old self, and headed to the kitchen.
"Hey, Rey, I'll make you your favorite hot chocolate!" he called out, his voice filled with a warmth that surprised even him.
Shreya's face lit up. "Really? You remember?"
Ashwin chuckled. "Of course, I do! And Vikram, I'll get you a coffee, just the way you like it."
As he worked on their drinks, the atmosphere in the room began to shift. The tension and seriousness of the day seemed to melt away.
When Ashwin returned with the steaming mugs, Shreya and Ashwin were spent the time sharing about their lives.
They sipped their drinks, the three of them - Ashwin, Vikram, and Shreya - having a light hearted conversation in the hall forgetting about everything else.
Just then, Sivaangi emerged from her room, her eyes widening in surprise as she took in the scene before her. She stood still, her gaze fixed on Vikram and Shreya, who were engrossed in conversation with Ashwin.
Sivaangi's eyes narrowed slightly as she noticed the way Shreya was sitting beside Ashwin, their shoulders almost touching. She couldn't help but notice the smile on Ashwin's face, a smile that seemed so carefree and genuine.
For a moment, Sivaangi just stood there, her heart racing with a mix of emotions. She felt a pang of discomfort, a sense of unease that she couldn't quite explain. It was as if she had stumbled upon a private moment, a moment that didn't belong to her anymore.
