Aaradhya's constant teasing and playful jabs at Ashwin's expense only added fuel to the fire, as Sivaangi's expression grew increasingly stormy. She seemed to be seething with frustration, her eyes flashing with a mix of annoyance and possessiveness. The air around her appeared to vibrate with tension, as if she was barely containing her emotions.
Suddenly, Sivaangi sprang up from her chair, her movements swift and abrupt. "Excuse me," she muttered, her voice low and strained, before quickly turning away from the group.
Monisha, sensing her friend's distress, immediately got up and followed Sivaangi, leaving the others in an awkward silence.
Pugazh, however, didn't miss the opportunity to shoot Ashwin a pointed look, his eyes narrowing slightly as if to say, "What are you doing idiot?" The glance was brief but loaded with meaning, and Ashwin seemed to shrink under its weight, his smile faltering for a moment.
As the two girls disappeared from view, the atmosphere around the table became even more strained, with Aaradhya's continued chatter and laughter only serving to heighten the tension. It was clear that Sivaangi's departure had left a rift.
Aaradhya's eyes sparkled with mischief as she leaned in, her voice taking on a playful tone. "Neenga ellarum epo kelamburinga?"
Ashwin glanced at his watch before responding, "In about an hour, I guess."
Aaradhya pouted, her lower lip jutting out in a disappointment. "Inum konja naal irukalamla!"
Ashwin smiled wryly, his expression apologetic. "We can't, Aaradhya. Enga ellarukum anga neraiya work iruku. Nalaiku vera oru important vishayam iruku."
Aaradhya's face fell, but she quickly recovered, her grin returning with a hint of teasing. "Okay, fine. Adhuvaraikum ungalukaga na wait pandren." She said with a wink.
Ashwin chuckled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Ayiooo, aala vidu ma. Na kelamburen" he said as he finished his food and ran away.
Sivaangi was observing the scene from a distance, her expression a mask of calm.
Sivaangi's eyes narrowed as she saw Ashwin approaching her, his footsteps echoing down the hallway. She quickened her pace, her heart racing with anticipation. Reaching her room, she pushed the door open and slipped inside, just as Ashwin was about to enter.
With a soft click, she closed the door behind her, the sound echoing through the hallway like a challenge. Ashwin's face was inches from the door, his eyes widening in surprise as it shut in his face.
For a moment, he stood there, his hand raised as if to knock, but then he let it fall, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. He knew Sivaangi well enough to recognize the signs - she was upset, and he liked the possessiveness behind her anger.
He tapped his knuckles against the wood, the sound echoing through the room. "Sweetheart, open the door please."
The door remained shut, but Ashwin didn't give up. He knocked again, his patience unwavering.
Finally, the door creaked open, and Sivaangi's frustrated face appeared in the gap. "What do you want, Ashwin?"
Ashwin's smile spread across his face as he stepped inside, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Do I want a reason to see you?"
Sivaangi's eyes flashed with irritation, and she threw a pillow at him. "Don't smile! You think everything is okay with that smile of yours!"
Ashwin chuckled, dodging the pillow with ease. Another one came flying, and he caught it mid-air, his grin still plastered on his face.
