Yay!! We have successfully reached 50th chapter❤️
The hospital corridor was silent, the only sound the soft hum of the fluorescent lights overhead. Vikram and Ashwin sat on chairs, separated by a few feet, but the distance between them felt like miles.
The tension was still palpable, a lingering echo of the pain and anger that had ravaged their friendship.
Suddenly, Vikram broke the silence, his voice low and hesitant. "Are you okay?"
Ashwin looked up, his eyes locking onto Vikram's, and for a moment, they just stared at each other. Then, Ashwin smiled, a small, sad smile, and nodded his head.
It was a tiny gesture, but it spoke volumes. At least Vikram was trying, reaching out across the chasm that had opened between them. They had once been the best of friends, a bond that everyone had envied. But life had intervened, and things had fallen apart.
Yet, somewhere deep in their hearts, the connection still lingered. They could still feel each other's pain, a residual echo of the friendship they once shared. It was a fragile thread, but it was still there, waiting to be grasped, waiting to be nurtured back to life.
Pugazh and Dharshan entered the hospital, their faces etched with concern. They made their way to Ashwin, embracing him in a warm hug. Vikram watched them, a hint of yearning in his eyes, as if he longed to be part of their circle again.
As Pugazh and Dharshan turned to Vikram, they greeted him with a nod. Pugazh asked, "How are Sivaangi, Monisha, Akash, and Shreya doing?"
Ashwin replied, "They're under observation. We can only see them in the morning."
Vikram, who had been sitting, stood up and approached them. "Is everything finished?" he asked, his voice low, referring to the accident setup.
Dharshan nodded. "Yes, everything is taken care of. It looks like an accident. The public won't suspect a thing."
Vikram nodded, a small sigh escaping his lips. "Good. I'm glad it's over."
The group stood there for a moment. They looked at each other, they knew they had to move forward, together. They had been through too much to let their friendship fall apart now.
Dharshan suggested, "Let's go out and eat. We could all use a break."
Vikram refused, "I'm not hungry."
Ashwin echoed, "I'm not hungry either."
Pugazh insisted, "Come on, guys, it'll do us some good." But seeing their reluctance, he let it go.
The four of them sat down in the chairs, the silence passed between them.
Ashwin's voice cracked as he spoke, "I don't know how I'm going to console Mom and Aisha. I never thought he will be this much disgusting person." Tears welled up in eyes.
Vikram's expression softened, and he reached out to pat Ashwin's shoulder. He pressed it gently, offering what little comfort he could.
Ashwin looked up at Vikram, their eyes meeting for a brief moment. Vikram quickly withdrew his hand and looked away, trying to hide his own emotions.
The ruckus between them was still there, but in that moment, they both knew they needed each other, no matter what.
A nurse approached them, looking around hesitantly. "Excuse me, who is Sivaangi here?"
The four looked at each other, unsure of how to respond. Ashwin finally got up, his movements hesitant. "What happened?" he asked the nurse.
The nurse replied, "The little boy was asking for Sivaangi in his sleep. He was crying. I thought he might feel better if the person he's asking for stayed with him."
