The darkness was only illuminated by the faint moonlight casting an eerie glow over the sleeping neighborhood. A petite figure emerged from the shadows, their footsteps silent on the dewy grass.

They climbed over to a room with so much struggle and approached a glass pan window, their eyes fixed on the sleeping form inside the room.

A faint knock on the glass broke the stillness, and the figure waited with bated breath for a response. The window creaked open, and a sleepy voice whispered, "Who's there?"

The figure grinned mischievously, their eyes sparkling with excitement. "Me," they replied, their voice barely above a whisper.

As the figure stood infront of the room, the sleeping person's eyes widened in surprise. "Rey! What are you doing here?" He mouthed.

But he saw her sheepish grin, he knows she was upto something . He quickly sprang out of bed, his heart racing with the sudden shock.

He pulled her inside the room, his voice low and urgent. "What are you doing here at this time? What if anyone saw us?"

But before he could continue rambling, Shreya closed his mouth with a gentle finger, her eyes sparkling with amusement. She sat down on his bed, her face sulking in a pretend pout.

Ashwin's mind racing with questions. But Shreya just shook her head, her ponytail bobbing behind her. "No questions, Ash. Not yet."

Ashwin's curiosity was piqued, but he knew better than to argue with Shreya when she had that look in her eyes. He sat down beside her, his eyes fixed on hers, waiting for her to say why she came here.

Shreya held Ashwin's hand, her eyes pleading with a puppy-like expression. "Come on, Ash, let's go get me some kulfi please," she whispered, her voice laced with excitement.

Ashwin hesitated, his mind racing with the consequences. " Rey, Are you crazy? If anyone sees us, we'll be in so much trouble," he whispered back, trying to reason with her.

But Shreya was adamant. She batted her eyelashes, her face scrunched up in a persuasive pout. "Please, Ash? Just this once?"

Ashwin couldn't resist her puppy face. He knocked her head playfully, a smile spreading across his face. "Fine, but if we get caught, I'm blaming you."

Shreya squealed in delight, pulling him out of the room and into the night. They crept through the shadows, their hearts racing with excitement, as they made their way to the kulfi vendor on the outskirts of the neighborhood.

The vendor, a kind old man with a warm smile, greeted them with a knowing glint in his eye. "Midnight kulfi run, eh? You two are something else."

Shreya grinned, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "I am craving. What can I do?"

Ashwin chuckled, shaking his head. "You're going to get us killed one of these days, Rey."

But Shreya just laughed,as they walked holding kulfis in theri hand. Shreya holding ashwin's hand.

After that, they reached their houses, they parted ways, but only for a moment. Shreya suddenly came running back towards Ashwin, her ponytail bouncing behind her. She pulled his shirt from behind, her eyes sparkling with a mischievous glint.

"Don't tell Vicky," she whispered urgently, her voice barely audible.

Ashwin smiled, knowing exactly who she was mentioning about - his best friend Vikram. "I won't," he replied, chuckling. "If he came to know, he'll kill us both."

Shreya shook her head, her expression skeptical. "I won't believe you," she said, her voice laced with a hint of teasing. "Promise me."

Ashwin chuckled, holding up his hands in mock surrender. "I promise, I promise. I won't breathe a word."

Just then, Shreya jumped up and kissed Ashwin's cheek, her lips brushing against his skin. "Thank you," she whispered, before turning and running back into her house.

Ashwin watched her go, a bemused expression on his face. He couldn't understand Shreya's activities tonight - the midnight kulfi run, the secrecy, the kiss on the cheek... But he shrugged it off, attributing it to Shreya's quirky nature.

He went inside his house, still smiling to himself, wondering what other adventures lay in store for them.

Ashwin sat amidst the chaos of clothes scattered around him, his eyes fixed on a worn-out photo in his hand. His mind had taken a detour down memory lane. The picture showed him and Shreya, both grinning from ear to ear, holding kulfis in their hands.

He stumbled upon the photo while searching for his favorite t-shirt, buried deep within the recesses of his cupboard.

As he pushed aside the piles of clothes, the photo slipped out from between two stacks of old notebooks. It was as if fate had brought it to the surface, reminding him of the good old days.

Ashwin's gaze lingered on Shreya's face, her eyes sparkling with mischief, her ponytail bobbing behind her. He remembered that night vividly - the midnight kulfi run, the secrecy, the kiss on the cheek. But what he didn't know back then was that Shreya's actions were more than just playful adventures. She had feelings for him, feelings he can understand now.

As he looked at the photo, everything struck him at once.

Shreya, he couldn't believe it or couldn't accept that she was gone.

He remembered the laughter they shared, the adventures they went on, the late-night conversations about life and everything in between. Shreya was more than just a friend to him.

But now, she was gone. The thought sent a pang through his heart, a grief he couldn't shake off. He can't believe that he was the reason for her absence in his life.

Ashwin's eyes welled up with tears as he whispered, "Why did you have to go, Rey? Why did you do that ?" The silence that followed was deafening, a harsh reminder that Shreya was truly gone.

Ashwin's thoughts shifted to Vikram. He remembered the anger and pain in Vikram's eyes after Shreya's departure. He could understand why Vikram would be hurt, why he would feel betrayed.

But what he couldn't understand was why Vikram had taken out his anger on him, on innocent people.

Ashwin realized that pain and anger were acceptable emotions, but hurting others as an act of revenge was not. He knew that Vikram's actions would cause harm to those around him, and that was something Ashwin couldn't accept.

He knew that Vikram was still hurting, still trying to come to terms with his loss. But he also knew that Vikram needed to find a way to heal, to move forward without causing harm to others.

Ashwin's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of his phone buzzing. He looked down to see a call from his love of life.
