Layle let out a long sigh that took a huge part of what was left of his energy. The day was the longest and the night didn't end yet, he was in the hospital but he couldn't ask for help. What to tell the doctor? He feels tired cause he is so powerful?
He was tired, bored, and irritated. The hospital was crowded with people who fell from the stadium fight and he was sick of looking at their faces, especially the ones that he was responsible of knocking out.
The police that showed up later on, roamed the hospital even after interviewing everyone, they seemed more interested in Layle rather than Keith, but they didn't push anything on him.
Outside the building the press was waiting for survivors and he was tired of running from them.
His face was already on news channels right after the fight. A true alphas saves the day again like a superhero. A true alpha was detected and known from the few hundreds in the kingdom.
He was disgusted.
He didn't want any of that. He was feeling the adrenaline rush few hours ago when he made everyone bow to him, but he didn't want to take credit after that. He didn't want his face to be known, people will connect him to everyone with a Prince last name and he doesn't want that. What if his grandfather forces him to join military after that.
His line of thought was easily cut by the strong laugh of Zain from the room he was in. Layle was sitting outside the room and finally decided to join.
It was Zain and Josh who were on hospital beds, the first with broken arm and the other with fractured ribs, both with bruises. Their laughs stopped when he showed up and their eyes spied on the other two visitors who were in the room studying their reactions and getting ready to laugh again.
The other visitors were Keith and Joey, whom were there the whole time, they weren't admitted to the hospital, cause their injuries weren't bad, they were well protected by the alphas.
They stood up from their seats, and pushed themselves to the walls of the small room, it was either fear or respect, or both, that made them stand, the effect of the true alpha's pheromones was messing with their minds still. But Layle didn't sit either toying with their nerves, and making them more scared.
He took one look at Joey who had the biggest black eye and smirked.
"Well deserved." He whispered but everyone heard.
He was clearly enjoying the tension in the air, maybe he was still high on his own achievement of making people scared of him.
The way Joey was bothered, and Keith not shifting his gaze from the ground, made the alphas finally laugh again, and changing the atmosphere in the room.
It was a long contagious laugh, that made the betas, who first appeared confused, finally crack and laugh, even Layle smiled.
Josh and Zain natural alphas who can change the mood of every room with their alpha traits. And the betas were as goofy as ever, they didn't know what they were laughing for, it was the nervousness that made them unable to stop.
At this point Keith felt like crying, but instead he cried of laughter. It was strange, really strange. The ability to laugh not at a joke, not at a funny situation, but at him being literally afraid of Layle was a strange and unfunny situation to laugh at.
But here he is laughing at at his own misery, his own mistakes, his own misfortune. But to his friends it was more strange to witness Keith laugh.
When was the last time they witnessed his smile and heard the sound of his laughter? Not even when they talked on the phone back when he was in Thailand they were able to hear it. Not even in photos. He simply stopped smiling the day he left home.
