So many things happened to Keith in few months, it felt like a dream, or a nightmare. The death of John the creep should've been a good thing, that changes his mood for the better. But it was the opposite.
Ever since he broke into the old alpha's house, and beat him half to death, he wasn't satisfied, he wanted to beat him some more, and he was planning on doing that. But now that the alpha died, he can't.
But it was for the better, another alpha scum bag is dead, the world became a bit better.
Keith during the past month, started becoming more healthy. He put more weight and exercised whenever he had the time. It helped him both physically and mentally. To distract himself and burn negative feelings.
Who got him into exercising, were Ryan and Ronn, those alphas never left him during his tough time, and it gave Keith mixed feelings about alphas.
There were alphas who hurt him, but then alphas who help him.
But he preferred to drag Joey along to run few laps around the dormitory's building, since he couldn't keep up with the alphas' stamina.
One of the mornings he called Joey few times to run together, but the beta never picked up. After a short while he decided to exercise alone. At least he can think about John the creep in peace, without Joey's distraction. He was still mad at his death after all.
He ran few laps, and surprisingly wasn't as much tired as he used to become, he built his stamina back, little by little. So he decided to run few more laps, till he can't breathe anymore, but a phone call stopped him.
"Hello?"
He picked the call, catching his breath. But the person on the other end was barely breathing. It was Caro and she was sobbing and gasping.
If the strong Caro was crying, it means Joey is the cause, Keith thought, and he was right.

He went to meet her at a cafe, the closest to her house, since she wasn't even in the mood to leave, if it wasn't for Keith.
She wore a coat over her pajamas, and flip flops. Her short hair was messy, and she didn't care to wipe the ruined mascara around her eyes.
Her nose red, and eyes swollen, she was clearly crying for a long time, and she lacked sleep.
Keith sat uncomfortably in front of her, he noticed the gazes from nearby tables and felt awkward. It's not a rare sight to catch a girl in her sad girl era, but to catch an amazing alpha female being not amazing is a rare sight, and female alphas were rare to start off, so people stared at them, and they had the right.
"He has a girlfriend."
Caro started, tears rolled down her face, just by mentioning the word 'girlfriend'.
"I'm sorry." Keith replied, he really felt sorry.
"You knew?" She was surprised for a moment but then realized. Joey is his best friend of course he knew.
She wiped her tears and sighed, wrapping her fingers around the hot chocolate cup they ordered.
"Yesterday he called, he said he has an important thing to tell me, and I got excited but worried."
She began and took a long breath before continuing.
"I dressed the best and put makeup, I asked to meet at an expensive restaurant, even though he refused at first, but I wanted to impress him as a last try."
"And it didn't work." Keith sighed.
"No, it didn't. He looked awkward and anxious, I knew what he was going to say is going to break my heart, so I confessed first, in hopes it will change his mind."
