27 - Unforeseen Events

"What was that?"

It's like his voice is echoing in my head and I suddenly slouched my upper body and I hugged my jacket closer to my body, closing it. "Ah it's so chilly today" I said changing the subject. 

I can feel my heart race so rapidly as each second passes, it's so loud that I could hear it.

'Shit'

'Shit'

'Shit'

'Shit'

'Calm down Hima he won't notice it, your jacket is a size bigger than normal'

"Did you hear that?" He asked again which made my eyes dart over at him. 

'My heart thumping or that snapping sound again?'

"Hear what?" I asked, fake smiling over at him but he just stared at me. 'I can't tell what he's thinking shit'

"I heard something snap, did you hear it?"

"No I didn't, must be the wind Umemiya-san" I laughed awkwardly then stood up from our position.

"Uh I don't feel so good, I think I'm gonna go home early today" I didn't even look at him and started striding forward, towards the door. My knees felt weak. I need to get away from him-

'I can't do this- Among anyone else who could possibly find out, why does it have to be the school's representative-'

I felt his hands snake up behind my back which made me jolt in surprise, 'For fucks sake-'

"O-oh, I'm sorry. You just said you weren't feeling okay so I thought I'd accompa-"

My legs gave up on me, I stumbled on my feet which made me sit on the ground. I saw the panic in his face as he crouched down in front of me, I don't like this- I don't like this- I don-

"G-get away from me"

Silence

"Did I do something wron-"

"Please. Just go. I'll be fine" I closed my eyes, feeling tears well up in my eyes. I don't want this. I don't want to see his reaction. I don't want him to see me like this.

"You're crying" 'I am?'

My eyes snapped open and my fingers instinctively touched my face to feel tears streaming down my face. 

"Just leave me alone alrea-"

"Why would I if you're crying. I can't do that" I can't even look at him anymore, my vision's blurry from my tears and my hands are shaking.

"I said leave me-" 

He threw his jacket over my head before I felt his arms lift me up in the air effortlessly. His arm on the backside of my knees and the other on my back. 

"W-what are you doing-" I tried to protest and move the jacket away so I could see but he shushed me.

"Shh. I'll take you home. You sound like you don't want other people to see you so stay quiet"  'You're included in that list!'

"What-" I tried to say something again but he kept on talking over me.

"Shh. Thankfully, classes started already so no one would be around the corridors" I could feel him moving already so I stayed quiet, afraid of anyone noticing.
