"The saddest thing is to be a passing moment in someone's life."
The next few weeks were a whirlwind of subtle sabotage and carefully orchestrated inconveniences. The siblings worked together seamlessly, their actions coordinated to create an environment that Emily would find increasingly unbearable. They were determined to protect their home and their secrets, and they knew that getting Emily to leave was the only way to ensure their safety.
Each morning started with Jungkook’s precision alarm tampering. Emily’s alarm clock was reset by an hour, making her late for university almost every day. She was forced to rush through her morning routine, barely making it to class on time, if at all. The stress was evident in her face, but she didn’t complain.
Y/N took on the role of moving Emily’s belongings. Each day, she subtly rearranged items in Emily’s room. Sometimes it was her textbooks, other times it was her toiletries. Emily would find her hairbrush in the kitchen, her notebooks in the living room, and her shoes in the bathroom. It was enough to drive anyone mad, and Emily was no exception.
Yoongi handled the environmental controls in Emily’s room. He adjusted the thermostat to make her room uncomfortably hot during the day and freezing cold at night. He also fiddled with the settings on her laptop and phone, causing them to malfunction at the most inconvenient times. Emily’s frustration grew with each passing day.
Jimin’s rumor-spreading was subtle yet effective. He made sure that whispers of tension and infighting within the family reached Emily’s ears. She overheard conversations about potential conflicts over inheritance and control of the family business, making her feel like she was in the middle of a brewing storm. The unease was palpable, and Emily began to wonder if she was truly safe in this house.
Hoseok added to the chaos by creating transportation issues. He would subtly tamper with Emily’s car, ensuring it wouldn’t start or would break down at the worst possible moments. She missed important meetings and appointments, further adding to her stress and frustration.
Namjoon, as the mastermind of the plan, kept a close eye on Emily’s reactions. He observed her carefully, noting the growing signs of agitation and discomfort. The siblings had to be careful not to overplay their hand, but they knew they were making progress.
One evening, as they gathered in Yoongi’s room to review their progress, the tension was palpable. Emily was growing increasingly irritable and paranoid. She had even started to question her own sanity, wondering if she was imagining the constant inconveniences.
“We’re getting close,” Namjoon said, looking around at his siblings. “She’s on edge. We just need to keep it up a little longer.”
“Do you think she’ll leave soon?” Jin asked, concern etched on his face.
“I think so,” Namjoon replied. “But we need to be careful. We can’t let her suspect that we’re behind this.”
The next few days were crucial. The siblings intensified their efforts, making sure Emily’s life became increasingly difficult. She was late to university, her belongings were constantly misplaced, and her room was always uncomfortable. The rumors of family tension continued to swirl, adding to her anxiety.
Finally, one morning, Emily reached her breaking point. She stormed into the dining room, her face flushed with anger and frustration.
“I can’t do this anymore!” she exclaimed, her voice trembling. “Everything in this house is against me! I don’t know what’s happening, but I can’t stay here!”
The siblings exchanged covert glances, trying to hide their relief. This was the moment they had been working towards.
“Maybe it’s just bad luck,” Y/N suggested, her tone calm and measured.
“Bad luck?” Emily scoffed. “This goes beyond bad luck. It’s like this house is cursed!”
“Maybe you just need a break,” Yoongi said, trying to sound sympathetic. “Sometimes a change of scenery can help.”
Emily looked around the room, her eyes narrowing. “You all seem perfectly fine. I’m the only one who’s having these problems.”
“Maybe it’s just stress,” Jimin said. “We’ve all been through a lot recently.”
Emily shook her head. “No, this is something else. I can’t explain it, but I need to get out of here.”
Namjoon seized the opportunity. “If you really feel that way, maybe it’s best if you leave. We don’t want you to be uncomfortable here.”
Emily hesitated for a moment, then nodded. “You’re right. I need to get out of here. I’ll find somewhere else to stay.”
“We’ll help you pack,” Jungkook offered, trying to sound helpful.
As they helped Emily gather her belongings, the siblings couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief. Their plan had worked, and Emily was finally leaving. They were careful to maintain their façade, acting as if they were genuinely concerned for her well-being.
Emily left the house later that day, her departure a quiet yet significant victory for the siblings. They watched as she drove away, feeling a sense of accomplishment and unity.
That evening, as they gathered in the living room, the atmosphere was lighter and more relaxed. They had succeeded in their mission, and their bond was stronger than ever.
“We did it,” Namjoon said, a small smile playing on his lips. “Emily’s gone.”
“Do you think she’ll come back?” Jin asked.
“I doubt it,” Yoongi replied. “She was too stressed to even consider it.”
“But what about our parents?” Taehyung asked. “Won’t they send someone else?”
“We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it,” Namjoon said. “For now, let’s just enjoy the peace.”
As they sat together, enjoying the calm after the storm, they knew they had overcome yet another challenge. Their unity and determination had seen them through, and they were ready to face whatever came next.
In the meantime, they would savor the moments of tranquility, knowing that they had protected their home and each other. The future was uncertain, but they were confident that, together, they could handle anything.
