Gianna's Point Of View
The drive to Amethyst was nearly a blur, the traffic lights being the only thing pulling me back into reality. Once I was there, the bouncer took one glance at me and lifted the rope for me.
The club was packed, nearing maximum capacity. The purple strobe lights flashed over me as I scanned the crowd, looking for an opening for me to go up to Eden's office.
As I pushed through the sea of bodies, the air grew thick with the smell of sweat and perfume. The music pulsed around me, making my heart beat in time. I dodged a stray elbow and sidestepped a spilled drink; I focused on getting up to Eden's office.
The crowd seemed to close around me, but I kept moving forward until my arm was tugged.
And I was met with her light eyes.
"Raine, please let me go. I'm not in the mood," I declared, pulling my arm back from hers, but her grip only grew tighter.
"Let me go, Raine," I repeated, trying to pry my arm loose from her grip. But she only smiled, her eyes glinting with amusement.
Her raven hair was pulled back into a low bun with black Prada sunglasses secured at the top of her head. She wore a cropped black tee exposing her lower stomach, with matching black jeans and a leather jacket. Her neck and arms were covered in iced jewels, catching any glimpse of light.
"I can't, Gianna," she said, her voice low and husky. "We need to talk."
I tried to pull my arm away again, but Raine's grip was like a vice. I was starting to get annoyed."What do you want, Raine?" I demanded, trying to keep my cool.
Raine's smile grew wider, and she leaned in close, her breath whispering against my ear."I want to know what's going on between you and Eden," she whispered, her voice sending a shiver down my spine.
I felt a surge of unease, and I tried to step back, but Raine's grip on my arm held me in place."What business is it of yours?" I asked, trying to sound calm.
Raine's eyes locked onto mine, and I saw a flash of something there - something that looked almost like jealousy.
"I'm making it my business," she said, her voice dripping with malice.I tried to laugh, but it came out forced. "You're ridiculous, Raine," I said, trying to pull my arm away again.Raine's grip tightened, and she leaned in closer, her eyes blazing with intensity. "I'm not ridiculous, Gianna," she whispered. "You're mine."
I felt a shiver run down my spine as Raine's words washed over me. Something was unsettling about her voice, making me feel like she could swallow me completely.
Suddenly, the music and lights of the club seemed to fade into the background, and all I could focus on was Raine's face, inches from mine.
"Let me go, Raine," I repeated, trying to keep my voice steady.
But Raines's grip only grew tighter until three shots went off, sending everyone ducking and running.
The sudden gunfire sent a wave of panic through the club, with people screaming and running for cover. I felt Raine's grip on my arm release, and I stumbled backward my heart racing.
