"Up, left left RIGHT left. Down right left right-" Nate's voice boomed as I punched and kicked the sack in front of me.
We had been training all day long. Working on my fighting skills, it was a super important lesson since the only thing I had been learning until now were the basics. Punching, kicking, twisting and turning and of course, self defense. But Nate always told me that I had to wait with fighting since I wasn't ready. Peter had appearantly talked to Nate about my progress and this was my first fighting lesson.
"Stop." Nate ordered and I did as told, looking at him as I was breathing heavily.
Nate let out a sigh and ran a hand over his face.
"Remember what I told you in our first lesson? You should always take the right position while throwing a punch. You forgot it again." He informed me.
"I found my punches pretty good." I admitted truthfully.
I had been training very much and today it felt as if I did well. Or at least that was my opinion.
"Your power and strength are good, but you lack position awareness. That means that you have to be aware of your position." He stated.
"No shit." I muttered.
"For example, you can't kick someone when he or she is against a wall or a tree, you can only knee your opponent, you can't punch someone when you are the one against a surface because it keeps you from bringing your arm back." Nate announced, ignoring my comment.
I clenched my jaw. He was right.
Nate walked towards me and stopped in front of me. I looked up at him as he stared down at me, his body was a few inches away from mine so that I could take in his scent. I took a small step backwards and looked at him in confusion, what was he doing?
"Hit me." His words took me off guard.
Was he being serious? I hadn't punched him since our first lesson, and I had promised myself not to hurt him. Nate was one of the very few people here that had been kind to me since I had arrived or should I say kidnapped...
"I'm sorry, what?" I asked.
"Hit me." Nate casually repeated but seriousness lingered in his eyes.
"No. You're crazy." I started protesting.
"I'm not. Now hit me." Nate argued.
I was about to protest again when he suddenly grabbed my arm and twisted it before pulling it onto my back. I let out a scream of pain as I doubled over. He then quickly put his foot in between my legs, causing me to fall to the ground and hit my head. I groaned while slowly rolling on my back.
I opened my eyes only to see him stand above me, his hand came down on me as a fist and I immediately rolled over, his fist hitting the spot where my head once was. I looked up at him in confusion and shock.
Nate started walking towards me again as I crawled backwards until my head gently hit a log behind me. I looked back at Nate to see him stand before me. His hand swung back and without thinking, I kicked him in between his legs.
Nate screamed in pain and doubled over, giving me the opportunity to stand up and punch him in his face, causing him to fall backwards on the ground.I was breathing heavily as I stared at him while he lay on the ground. Groaning in pain but looking at me with a sick smile on his face.
"This lesson, is over!" I announced before stomping away angrily.
*~*~*~*
I was sitting by the fire as the Lost Boys ate the food they caught today. I wasn't hungry.
After today's fight with Nate I couldn't help but feel guilty and mad. He had made me fight him even though he knew how I thought about the idea of hurting people. That's why I avoided him all day long.
