JADE
My chin rested on my hands as I stared at Zen's unconsious body which lay on a big table next to me. My mother found him, half dead on the training field. No one knew what happened, only that his pulse was low and that even the fairy's powers couldn't heal his wounds properly.
"Don't frown so much. You'll get wrinkles." A voice spoke up, breaking the silence.
I looked to my right to see Peter entering the treehouse. He seemed tired.
"How is he holding up?" He asked.
"His pulse is there but I can see he breaths slowly and with difficulty." I informed him, looking back at Zen.
"How could he have done this?" I wondered.
"Do you think he tried to kill himself so that he could take revenge?" I added.
"No. Zen won't rest until he has taken down Shadow. Once he has something on his mind, it's difficult to stop him. I'm surprised he stopped hunting me actually." Peter replied, his british accent thick.
I burried my face in my hands, letting out a groan.
"What's wrong with you? He's going to live, you don't have to worry." Peter said.
"It's not that." My voice was muffled.
"I'm just thinking about how bad of an idea it is to tell you that something new came up about the Shadow case." I looked up at him.
Peter's expression turned serious and he tensed up.
"What happened?" He asked.
I bit my lip, thinking about how I could tell him about Sam.
"Rember when I found that pool of dried up blood on the outlook pole?" I started.
"Yes." Peter furrowed an eyebrow.
"Well, I walked passed Sam's grave today and someone was up there. In the basket. So I climbed up to get them down and....gosh this might sound crazy." I explained.
Peter urged me to continue, so that's what I did.
"It was Sam. He was in the basket."
"You're right that does sound crazy." Peter replied, disbelief clear on his face.
"It's true! Sam actually stood there, and he talked to me." I stood up.
"Well what did he say?" He questioned.
"He told me that I was right. That he was murdered by a creature. It told him that he was the first and that other will follow." I explained.
Peter seemed confused.
"Shadow is trying to kill us, one by one. He knows we're coming for him so he's trying to take us out. Make us weak. That's why my guilt got the best of me. And now Zen? I don't think this is a coincidence." I finished.
"He's trying to make it all look natural. Like Sam's death." Peter said, catching up.
We locked eyes and silence filled the room for a bit.
"So what do we do now?" I asked.
"We need to be more careful. Keep everyone safe and wait until Zen wakes up." Peter suggested.
"What happens when he wakes up?"
"We leave for the real world." He answered.

I stood on the edge of the shore, watching over the frozen lake. I took a deep breath, smoke escaping from my mouth because of the cold.
"I know you can hear me. Come out. Please." I called out.
