"There's no other choice than this... " I replied.
My body slightly turned towards Shadow, who was staring down at me from a distance, as a thick, black, aura began to surround his body. The vile smile on his face deeply widened, as he started taking a few steps towards me.
A relieving pain shot through my back, as I straightened my body right ahead of him and placed my left palm on my blade's tip, holding it in front of me. With a sudden move, I moved my blade downwards, slightly slicing my palm.Shadow observed my movements closely but his smile immediately fainted as he saw drops of my blood running on the black sword's tip. The blade let out a blinding flash of light and a crimson outline surrounded it, quickly spreading to me. An overwhelming power was spilled into my body and a scream of pain left my lips as rays of energy left my body and were fed to the sword in my hands. The crimson outline around me quickly errupted into an explosive, bright red aura, making smoke rise in the area around me and Shadow.
With a surprised look, Shadow gritted his teeth together before brushing away the smoke with his right hand.
"You fool! What have you done?! " He asked in anger, although he already knew the answer.
"The way you put it, it makes little difference whether I live or die, so it made this decision all too easy to take. With your rising strength, I only had the option to give the sword everything I got, to step my game up. " I explained with a serious look on my face.
"So, what do you think? Shall we end this, once and for all?" I asked, tightly holding the sword in front of me.
Our auras mixed together as they met in the distance between us and blended into a dark purple color. My old master's face was swarmed with hesitation, before he let out a battlecry and immediately lunged for me.
"I wanted to make this world a better place!" Shadow yelled as he swung his claw at me, but luckily, I blocked it.
"It is dwelled in misery anyways, so why not finish it off? I wanted to create a world where nightmares live amongst the people! As one! And I, would be their ruler." He explained I managed to dodge another attack.
I swung my sword at him but Shadow bowed, grabbing my leg and pulling me to the ground.
"You could've lived here, Zen. With your beloved friends. With your beloved Jade and Grace and Nate and everyone else!"
I kicked Shadow's leg, causing him to double over. I quickly stood up and kicked Shadow in his face, making him fall to the ground this time. I brought my sword down upon him but he rolled over, my sword clashing into the cement of the street that had collapsed when the crater appeared.
"It is too late now though. You will have to die for the choices you've made!" Shadow spoke up, coming up from behind me and wrapping his arms around my waist.
He then started squeezing me as I felt the air pump out of my lungs. Black and white spots appeared in fronf of my eyes as I tried to desperately gasp for air, hearing my bones crack.
I felt my body starting to crumble, as Shadow's grip tightened around it. His vile laughter pierced my ears, as I tried to break his grip with my left hand in vain. The gaping wound in my hand prevented me from pushing his hands off me, which made him laugh even louder.
"This is the end. Now you shall die! " He shouted gleefully.
My eyes landed upon Jade in the distance, who glanced over at me. Our eyes met for a single moment, which made me remember what I've been fighting for all this time. The worried look on her face as she saw me in this tight spot. Like all hope had vanished in an instant.
Grace, who was standing next to her turned her head towards me and her eyes shrinked in terror in an instant.
