JADE

Shivers ran up my spine as I pulled my blanket over my head, trying desperately to warm myself up. I groaned when it didn't work and turned on my back, waking up fully from my deep slumber.

"Why is it so cold?!" I whined out loud.

"Maybe because you left your window open." Another voice replied.

I opened my eyes, confused and then shot up in my bed. Screaming and holding my blanket against my chest as my eyes fell upon my chair that stood in the corner of my cabin.

"Calm down, it's just me." Alek said, stepping into the greyish light that came from my window.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, shocked.

"I wanted to see if you were alright after what happened at the ball." He replied.

"Now?" I questioned.

"Yes."

"Well how long have you been here?"

"A little while, are you done with the confrontation? I feel like I'm in an interview." Alek sighed.

I muttered a soft "sorry" and looked away from Alek. The last time I saw him, he had a bloodied face and looked at me with hurt after he found out that I had kissed Nate. Yeah...not a good last impression.

"So, how have you been? You look better." I spoke up after a little while.

"Yeah, Tinkerbell cleaned up my face. Healed my bruised eye." Alek's voice was a little cold and I bit my lip.

"Good." I mumbled, not knowing what to say.

"And you? Did you have a nice time with Zen? Did you, run through a meadow while holding hands? Kiss, perhaps?" I closed my eyes.

"Don't be ridiculous. Of course not."

"Hm. That's a surprise." Alek muttered.

I opened my eyes and looked at him, glaring slightly.

"Well that's not fair, is it? I know it was wrong of me to kiss both you and Nate but, it happened. The truth is, I have feelings for you both and having you wander around camp, glaring at each other wasn't really something I wanted. Not that you weren't doing that already." I backed myself up.

"So what? Were you going to keep your mouth shut until you made up your mind? We're not dolls, Jade." Alek said.

"You aren't dolls? I'm sorry, but were you sober enough to remember how you and Nate treated me yesterday? Fighting over me like I'm some sort of doll. Do you remember that?!" I snapped.

Alek kept his mouth shut and I took that opportunity to get even angrier.

"Honestly Alek, I should be the one snapping on the both of you. Yes, I made the mistake of kissing you boys but you made the mistake of making me feel like some sort of prize. And let's not forget the fact that you fought over me. Some girls would find that romantic but not me. It's punishment enough for me. I'm getting frustrated over two boys that both like me and who I like, while there's a shadow villain we need to think about, destroying childrens dreams. So I'm sorry that I'm too busy fixing that gigantic problem rather than trying to tear you two apart before you kill one another."

Alek scratched the back of his head, avoiding eye contact. He gulped and sighed.

"You're right. There are bigger problems going on..." He said.

"I just thought that you cared more about our feelings. My feelings. I did say I love you and I don't regret it." And with those words, he walked up to my bed and planted a kiss on my forehead.
