^Jade^

My eyes took in my surroundings as I stood in the middle of the road. Houses, stood at each side of it and all the lights were off. Everybody was asleep.

I recognized this place all too well.

Storybrooke.

My home town. But...where was my house? It wasn't at the end of the road, where it always stood. There was a giant tree instead which confused me.

"Jade" A voice snapped my attention elsewhere.

"Jade" The voice whispered again. I had heard it before.

Then, all of a sudden, a gigantic shadow stood opposite of me. Just a few feet away. It's sharp teeth glistened in the silver moonlight as it evilly smiled at me, it's dark purple eyes sending shivers down my spine. It was the same shadow that appeared in my dreams. The same shadow that caused me nightmares.

"Who are you?" I dared to ask, my voice echoing through the street.

The shadow continued to smile at me but pushed it's index finger to it's non-existing lips. Or at least, I couldn't see it's lips.

It motioned me to stay and a frown found it's way to my face as I watched it fly towards the window of a house. It looked at me once more, before entering the window.

Silence filled the air and I stood nailed to the ground as my eyes searched the area around me for any sign of life.
Suddenly, a blood curling scream of a child made my head snap in the direction of the window the shadow had entered just a few minutes ago. I watched in horror as the shadow exited the same window, the screaming not stopping. I had to press my hands against my ears to block out the screams, but it didn't exactly help.

"Make it stop! Make it stop!" I yelled at the shadow.

It only floated in the air, grinning evilly at me as always.

I saw the lights of the room turn on and worried parents walked over to the child that was crying and punching and kicking as it continued to sob. They tried to wake the child up and eventually, it worked.

"Shh honey, it was just a bad dream." The mother shushed her crying child.

"N-No it w-wasn't." The child sobbed.

"What do you mean Michael?" The father questioned, worried.

"It's coming for us. For all of us. Our dreams...they'll be turned into nightmares! I saw it, it just told me!" The boy, who I recognized as one of my neighbours, said.

The parents glanced at each other, seriousness and worry taking over.

"That's not going to happen, Michael. Remember that one place full of dreams? It's going to be there forever, and you are going to continue playing there in your dreams. Like always." Michael's mother reasured him.

But Michael only shook his head  'no'.

"It's disappearing, just like all the dreams." He whispered.

My eyes wandered over to the shadow which was staring at me. An evil laugh echooed through the street as the shadow floated up to the sky and disappeared into the dark colour.

I woke up with a loud, deep gasp and found myself sitting up in bed. Looking around me, I sighed in relief as I recognized my surroundings. I was in my cabin, on Neverland.
