TINK
"Frederick please take these back to the kitchen, don't throw them away, we're going to give them to the ogres later." I ordered, handing my fellow fairy a tray with sweets.
He nodded and started walking away.
"And don't eat them yourself!" I yelled after him, knowing that he would.
I sighed and busied myself in cleaning the area where the ball was held. It was a success, that I could tell you. It seemed like everyone had fun, myself included. But that was until I lay my eyes upon Nate and Alek who walked out of the spot where the fountain was, both with bloodied, sad faces. I nearly had a heart attack. Other than that, everything escalated smoothly.
"May I have your attention please?" I spoke up, standing on the dance floor and calling out to all the fairies that helped me set this up.
Once I had all eyes on me, I began speaking.
"I want to thank you all for your help both for the preparations and clean up for this ball. You have all worked greatly and really put your sweat in it, literally....that goes for every one of my fairies hands, appeared a gift.
"Thank you, Tink, for making all this happen every time." Grutle, a good friend of mine, yelled.
Everyone nodded and cheered and said their goodbyes before disappearing to their appartments. I smiled in satisfaction. Not only did it please me to see how great our teamwork was every time the ball came up, but it also made me happy that the fairies enjoyed the whole process and showed the same amount of gratefullness.
I clapped my hands, dusting them off from the dirt that had gotten onto them as I stepped off of the dance floor. As I looked up though, a frown found itself to my face as I spotted a figure standing by a certain flower apartment. An apartment that I hadn't visited in a while. I began walking towards it and with every step I took, I got a clearer view of the figure, recognizing it."I was wondering when you'd show up at this place." I spoke up.
Zen remained silent, staring the apartment when a smile found it's way to his lips.
"I never got the chance for a proper goodbye. That's all." He replied softly.
I looked at the apartment, gulping.
"You're not the only one. I didn't have the balls to walk up to her cascet." I said, my voice hoarse.
"For the first few months I looked over here from my bedroom window, waiting for her to walk down her porch with that infamous smile on her face. But it never happened." I added.
"Even though it's more than a lifetime ago, such memories never really fade. I used to feel like I owed her at least an explanation, or something. But fate had other plans..." Zen explained.
"What would you say to her if she were here now?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper.
Zen remained silent for a moment, his head lowering slightly.
"I don't think I'd say anything."
I didn't answer, whiping a tear away whilst looking the other way in hope he didn't notice.
"Do you remember?" Zen spoke up after a while.
"The second Fairy Ball. It was just a day after Peter had kicked me out, that I learned just how much she really cared about me. Just how much I meant to her..."
I nodded my head.
"I remember." I said.
