“Nagbigay na nga ng go signal ang Stardome, Rae. Ngayon ko lang nasabi sa'yo kasi inayos ko pa lahat ng mga kailangan ayusin para sa pagbabalik mo.”

I sighed in relief after hearing that. I can finally go back.

“Thank you, ate Pers. May I know when exactly? Para makapaghanda na rin ako.”

“Tentative date will be three days from now, Rae,” ate Pers answered.

“That fast?” My brows furrowed.

Ate Perry sighed. “Oo eh. 'Yon na rin kasi ang sabi ng management, kasi nangungulit na raw si Direk Paul tungkol sa pagbabalik mo kasi lagpas na raw sa due date 'yung release ng movie niyo ni Kit. Pagbalik mo rito, 'tsaka pa ire-release kaya diretso promotion ka na agad.”

That means I have to gain my image back. Napabuntong-hininga ako at nag-isip.

“May iilang offer din akong natanggap na i-cast ka sa mga movie at series nila. Kailangan mo 'yan pagdesisyonan pagbalik dito. Then may iilang shoots at interview kayong dalawa ni Kit para sa movie niyo. You'll be busy, Rae.”

“Ate Pers..” nakapikit kong saad sa kalagitnaan ng pagsasalita niya. “I'm.. dating someone.”

Hindi agad nakasagot si ate Perry kaya natahimik ang linya saglit. Kapagkuwan ay narinig ko ang buntong-hininga niya.

“Kailan pa?” she sounded calm. “At sino?”

“Just.. a week ago. And I'm dating.. Lucho,” I informed her.

“Sabi ko na nga ba.” Ate Perry sighed heavily. “Bakit pa ba ako nagtatanong kung sino eh si Lucho lang naman ang nakakasama mo riyan?”

I chuckled lightly. “And I'm not planning to hide it. Gusto ko sana isama siya sa pagbalik ko.”

“Ako na bahala mag-inform niyan sa Stardome, Rae. Sabihan lang kita kapag ano ang desisyon nila. For now, kausapin mo muna si Lucho tungkol diyan, okay?” Ate Perry said.

Ilang paalala pa ang binilin ni ate Perry bago niya binaba ang tawag. Napahinga naman ako nang maluwag dahil mukhang wala namang problema kay ate Pers. All I have to do now is tell the final boss.

My parents.. and to be specific, my mom.

“Rae, anak.. napatawag ka?”

“'My.. may sasabihin kasi sana ako..” I trailed off and bit my lower lip to ease my nervousness. “Ano.. are you with daddy?”

“Yes, sweetheart. Katatapos lang namin mag-dinner eh. Ano bang sasabihin mo?” Mommy asked.

“Bago muna 'yon, promise me hindi ka mago-overreact,” I told her.

Mommy scoffed. “I don't overreact, Asraelle Heather. Unless you tell me you're pregnant, then I'll probably will.”

“Tsk, mom?”

“Sige na, sige na. Ano ba 'yon? Nasa tabi ko daddy mo, he's also listening.”

I sighed and gather up some courage to tell them. “I have a boyfriend now.”

They didn't respond to that so I took that time to keep going.

“For a week pa lang, but I liked him for weeks. His name is Lucho, and we met noong bodyguard ko pa lang siya. We just met again when I came here in Isla Antrades,” I informed while playing with my fingers, anxious about their silence. “Mom? Dad?”

I heard movements from the other line and then I heard dad's voice. “Your mom is frozen on her seat. I had to take her phone, anak.”

Napairap ako. “I just told her not to overreact.”

“You know your mom.” Dad chuckled. “So, tell me about this boyfriend of yours. How old is he?”

“He's twenty-six, and he lives here sa Isla Antrades,” I answered. “He works somewhere nearby here.”

“Hmm. You mentioned he was your bodyguard, so he's aware of your job. Wala siyang sinabi about it?” Dad's voice was then overpowered by my mom's voice. “Rafael! Book plane tickets towards that place now!”

“Mom!” reklamo ko agad. “It's already 8 in the evening!”

“I don't care, little missy. My daughter just told me she have a boyfriend, and I want to meet the boyfriend.”

“It's not necessary, mom,” pasuko kong saad. Hindi ko talaga kinakaya si mommy. “I'm going home in three days. I'll bring Lucho with me, you can meet him by then.”

“Oh, uuwi ka na?” Lumambing na ang boses ni mommy. “Okay, maghihintay na lang kami ni dad mo rito. Make sure to bring Lucho with you, okay?”

“Yes, mom.” I sighed.

The next day, I woke up late so Lucho went to the resort alone. Plano ko namang sumunod para sabihin sa kaniya ang nangyari kagabi. I wore a casual maong shorts and a black tube top underneath a white cover up. Tinali ko sa bandang tiyan ko ang cover up. I put my hair in a low bun and brought my sunglasses with me to the resort.

Pagkarating doon ay dumiretso lang ako sa hotel dahil alam kong nandoon ang boyfriend ko. The renovation will be taking place starting next week kaya busy na busy si Lucho.

“Wow, may artista!”

Tiningnan ko si Cy na nakasalubong ko sa may entrance ng hotel. “Si Lucho?”

“Wala man lang 'Hi, Cy! Kumusta ka na'?” Sumimangot siya at sinamaan ako ng tingin. “Nasa meeting pa ang boyfriend mo.”

“Thanks, Cy!” Nginitian ko siya at tinapik sa balikat at nilagpasan.

“Hindi ako tumatanggap ng thank you, madam! Reto mo na ako sa isang artista!” pahabol niyang sigaw.

Pumasok ako sa loob ng opisina ni Lucho at talagang wala nga siya roon. I sat on the sofa and played with my phone while waiting for him. I decided to post something on my socials after a while kaya naghanap ako ng picture ng beach that I took a few days ago. Magpaparamdam lang to see their reaction.

I got hungry while waiting kaya lumabas ako ng office saglit para bumili ng snacks sa mga vendor nearby. I bought two buko juice and a whole buko pie and went back to the hotel again.

When I arrived, I noticed the door of Lucho's office is opened a little. Papasok na sana ako nang makarinig ako ng mga boses na nagmumula sa loob.

“– Baka umalis saglit? Nandito lang 'yon si madam kanina eh.” It was Cy's voice.

“Sana sinabihan mo ako. Baka saan na nagpunta 'yon,” si Lucho.

“Nasa meeting ka kanina, tanga!” Tumawa si Cy. “Nga pala, kapag bumalik si Miss Rae sa Manila, sasama ka ba?”

Gusto ko nang pumasok sa loob pero nang marinig ang tanong ni Cy ay napahinto ako. I know it's bad to eavesdrop but I can't help it.

Ilang saglit hindi sumagot si Lucho. “Hindi ko alam...”

“Paanong hindi mo alam? Magdesisyon ka na ngayon pa lang, dude! Hindi naman magtatagal dito buong buhay ang girlfriend mo.”

“Alam ko naman 'yon. Matagal ko nang iniisip 'yon, bago pa lang naging kami,” he said. “Hindi ko lang talaga alam kung makakaya ko ba kapag nakapasok na ako sa mundo niya.”

I didn't react to that because I know his fear about my world. But what he said after.. made me think twice about telling him to come with me.

“Kasi kahit gustuhin ko mang manatili sa tabi niya, ang buong mundo na mismo ang maghihiwalay sa akin mula kaniya kasi 'yung pangalan ko... wala namang ikakabuga.”
