Chapter 49

Calum's Point of View

I took one last look around my room. This was probably the neatest I've ever seen it but I tried my best just in case they decide to take in a roommate to stay here.

I've hardly spoke to anybody since yesterday when I told them I was leaving. I sat with April at the table this morning but we hardly spoke to each other. I really want to though, but I just don't know what to say.

I've also been debating on telling Danielle, but she's probably already moved on so I thought I might as well just leave her be. No matter how much it hurt, or how much I fucked up, I just need to move on.

It was currently half past one. I had around forty-five minutes until the van was coming to pick me up. I'm just worried about the fans that are going to be at the airport questioning why I'm not with the boys, but I'm sure it'll be fine.

I dragged my suitcase along the wooden floor until I reached the top step. I then slid down the handle and lifted up the suitcase and carried it down the stairs before leaving it by the door.

I walked through into the kitchen to find Miriam and Ashton. I gave them both small smiles as I looked at them. Miriam was the first to walk up to me.

"I understand what you did was out of anger and hurt. I'm sorry for the way I acted towards you but Danielle is one of my best friends and I was just shocked. I shouldn't of acted the way I did towards you because you're one of my best friends too." she bowed her head before looking up again with a smile on her face. "The past is in the past, Calum. let's leave it there, yeah?"

I nodded returning the smile and feeling extremely grateful to have a friend like her. She pulled me into a tight hug seconds later.

"I still love you, both of you." This was for me and Ashton this time. "Just next time if you're feeling hurt, talk about it, and don't put your hurt onto someone else." she told me.

"Okay, thanks Miriam."

"No problem. I'm just gonna pop out but I'll be back in time to see you go." She waved me and Ashton off before walking off towards the door. As it closed I went to take a seat in front of Ashton.

"So ... are you guys okay now or..?" I then asked after a short silence.

"Yeah, but we aren't dating anymore. We decided just to stay friends and see what happens." He nodded crossing his arms whilst biting his lip.

I feel like all if this is my fault I've ruined all my friends relationships and there's nothing I can say of do to make it better.

"I'm really sorry, Ash..."

"No, no it's not your fault. It's okay.." he smiled weakly. "It was going to happen eventually..." he sighed tapping the table and then getting up to leave. "I'm gonna go take a shower."

I nodded briefly as he walked away leaving me alone.

I don't know if I want to leave anymore. I can't just leave, at a time like this I - I just can't leave, I need to see Danielle first I can't leave without at least saying goodbye.

But she's moved on I mean they saw her with that boy. I just I don't know what to do anymore.

I didn't see the time pass by until I heard Miriam calling my name.

"Calum? Cal, hello?" She waved her hand about my face until it shot up in surprise. "Yeah, your car is here." She nodded.

I nodded back at her getting up and walking towards the door before looking back at the kitchen and the living room for one last time, remembering all the memories that have been made here.

Flashback #1

"Now for my birthday present to you" I say intertwining our fingers. "We haven't had the best start together and we both know why. I have been a horrible person to you and you've hated my guts. And I want to make up for the years of pain by...taking you to Disneyland"

Her smile fades as that was clearly not what she expected, poor girl.

I laugh historically tilted my head back. "I'm joking Danielle, well that's partly true we are going to DisneyWorld. But that's not all I wanted to tell you"

"Hey! Don't do that, well actually yes cos I love DisneyWorld but, that's not funny." She responds slapping my arm.

"What I wanted to say was... do you... Danielle? Do you want to be my girlfriend?"

Her smile grew back again as she nodded vigorously " Yes... I Danielle will... be your girlfriend" She repeated the same way I did.

I stand up going round to hug her. I love this girl so much.

Flashback #2

Danielle's face buried into my chest continuously crying. They had just bandaged up her toe and got the glass out of it, it was nothing serious. I rub her back trying to comfort her but I don't think it's working.

"Excuse me, your going to need to have a word with us" a female police officer says.

I kiss Danielle's head "Hey, come on babe" she lifts her head up.

"Just go through into the kitchen, give me one second. Um help yourself to a drink if you like." she sniffles looking at the cop. She smiles and nods walking into the kitchen.

I wipe away Danielle's tears as she sniffles. "After this, there won't be anymore trouble with them."

"How do we know that? She tried to kill me, Again!" She cries tears falling again.

"I know because we have the tour after this, and by the time we get to Orlando, you'll be having way to much fun to remember this even happened" I tell her wiping away her tears, just before pulling her into a hug.

"I love you" she says giving me a faint smile.

"I love you, too" I say bending down to give her a kiss "I'll be out here, okay?"

She nods before walking into the kitchen. I sit down at the bottom of the step waiting for her to finish when I hear footsteps from above me. I look up to see a very sleepy Ashton and Luke.

"What happened, dude?" Luke asks before yawning and sitting on the top step.

"Yeah, we heard sirens and shit thought someone had died" Ashton says doing the same.

I turn around to face then lean my back against the wall, folding my arms "It's a long story..."

Flashback #3

"So are you okay with that?"

"Yeah" I nod and she smiles back.

"'Kay, I'll apply tonight. I don't know how but I'll figure it out"

"Yeah, cos your 'smarty pants' right?" I laugh.

"Shut up" She smiles giving me a kiss. Then the doorbell goes.

"Pizzas here!" Somebody shouts running to the door. I don't back away neither does she so I just go with it.

"Oi! Love birds, stop making out or you won't get any pizza!" Ashton shouts making us pull apart and I feel my cheeks go red with embarrassment.

End of Flashbacks

This place has been my home for a long time. It's been my roots for a long time. But I guess things change...

It's time to start a new adventure... and some new memories...
