Danielle's Point of View

I panted as I jogged back up the steps to the house. I had just been for a run around the block a couple times just because I'm a lazy ass and never do any sports.

Pushing the door open I stepped inside, walking through into the kitchen. I poured myself a glass of water and chucked it down. Water never tasted so good. I added the glass to the pile of dishes starting to pile.

All of us in this house were busy and lazy and none of us ever bothered loading the dishwasher even though it took like five minutes. After the mums left yesterday this place was getting messy again.

New Year's was coming and I don't know if we'll be having it here or in the Hemmings household.

I walked back upstairs to go into my room and shower, because I smelled and sweat really bad.

I was just about to walk past Calum's room before he walked out of it.

"Hey, babe." I greeted going up to give him a brief kiss because I really did smell. As I did kiss him though something was different. It was his taste, his smell. "Calum... What's that smell?" I asked him stepping back a bit and looking at him.

His sniffed his shirt and laughed nervously. "My cologne...?" He looked back at my unconvinced face.

I shook my head before walking up to him. "Calum, have you been smoking?!" I whisper-shouted.

"No - I-"

"Move!" I stopped him and pushed past his body into his bedroom. As I did the smell hit me straight away. I walked to his bedside table opening up the drawer to find a packet of cigarettes in there. I lifted them out and turned around. "Why didn't you tell me? It's not only that, Calum there is a baby living in this house a couple doors down!"

"I know! I've only done it a couple times in here, I go outside most of the time... I'm sorry I -" He stuttered.

"You, what?! Thought it'd be nice to ruin Matt's lungs, ruin everyone else's, more importantly your own!" I yelled at him whilst his head was bowed down. I can't believe he's smoking and didn't even think to tell me. I know I was being a bossy girlfriend right now but I care about his body. "Do you have any more packets?" I asked him with a softer tone of voice.

He shook his head, biting down hard which really sharpened his jawline. But that's not the point I was really mad at him right now for lying to me and ruining his perfect body.

"Good. Now, I'm gonna go and shower and when I'm done, you better have a very good explanation for these." I told him walking towards the door. I glanced up at him before walking out completely and into my room to have my long awaited shower.

I took my towel from the cupboard and put the cigarettes in there shutting the door before going into the bathroom.

After my shower, which I spent a little too long in but anyway, after my shower I wondered around the house looking for Calum since he wasn't in his room.

"Luke, have you seen Calum?" I asked him about to go down stairs. He stretched his arms up I'm guessing because he just had a nap.

"Um... I think he's downstairs." He replied his arms still up.

"Thanks." I thanked him slapping his belly before sprinting downstairs. I heard him groan as I did and him yell "I'll get you later!" I laughed popping my head into the living room. Calum wasn't in there but Michael was with Matthew in his arms as they slept on the couch. I quietly walking up to them covering then with the blanket before exiting and going back into the kitchen.

Nobody was in there and I was hungry anyway, so I grabbed a cereal bar from the pantry before going in the garden to enjoy it. As I did I found the person I was looking for.

I sighed walked up to him and sitting down next to him. "Hey." I smiled weakly. He had a cup of coffee in his hands his elbows rested on his knees. He didn't say anything but just took a sip of his drink. I tore away the wrapper for the bar and broke a bit off. "Want some?" I offered.

He turned his head to face me. "I know what your going to say, so just say it." He sighed turning his head back around, he took a sip of his coffee before placing it on the floor.

I put the bit of bar in my mouth and placed the other part on the bench. I quickly chewed it before speaking. "Are you going to tell me why your smoking then?"

He shrugged still looking down at the floor. "Dunno."

"Calum.." I sighed closing my eyes and rubbing my head. "Is it me? Did I do something?"

"No." He responded quickly.

"Really, because you really are making me feel like it is!"

"I don't want to talk about it right now, Danielle."

I sighed putting my head in my hands. We were going to argue again and I really didn't want that. I lifted my head back up and moved up a bit closer to him and put my head on his shoulder.

"Listen, I love you, but I also care about you. If you don't want to talk about it it's fine." I adjusted my head so I could just about see his face. He didn't look at me so I sighed putting my head back down. I then felt the weight of his head against mine.

"My parents anniversary is coming up soon, and I just don't handle it very well. Smoking just, I guess it just helps me with the pain inside." He said quietly. I face palmed myself, literally. I lifted off my head from his shoulder.

"I'm really sorry, Calum..." He turned to look at me and shrugged. His eyes were getting teary and he couldn't really hold them back.

"It's whatever."

I sighed, again, pulling him in for a hug. "No, it's not." I rested my chin under his head as he just let it all out. It was better for him to do this than ruin himself in the inside.

He pulled away from our hug looking away. He wiped away some tears and lifted up his cup with coffee with it. "I'm gonna go inside." He sniffled. "Thanks though." He kissed my forehead before getting up and going towards the kitchen.

"Calum...!" He either didn't hear me or ignored me. I groaned loudly at myself.

I'm so caught up in my own life and my own problems, I forget that he has problems too... And I never actually ask him how he is...

Wow, super selfish.
