THURSDAY came around, and needless to say, Haewon couldn’t help but to dread what tomorrow was to bring.

The constant reminder of the dance her mother had so graciously approved of lingered in her mind, seemingly draining her of any energy.

The constant, nagging worry over her own wardrobe was ever so consistent, popping up at the top of her head during random times in which she’d try to force such concern to the back of her mind in order to focus on more important things - such as schoolwork.

Seong Haewon knew herself, and she certainly knew of her lack of formal attire. Sure, she owned a few dresses and skirts, but nothing appropriate for the type of event she’d be attending.

With a heavy sigh, the girl leaned forward and rested her chin in the palm of her hand.

Having a late lunch meant spending the period with none other than Jang Miyeon, who raised a brow curiously as she sat across from Haewon. “What are you sighing about?”

Haewon peered over at Miyeon, pushing herself to sit up straight as she rested her hands in her lap. “What to wear.” She replied vaguely, earning a quiet hum as the girl took a sip out of the drink she got from the vending machine.

“For?” Miyeon inquired, setting the bottled strawberry milk down on the tabletop.

“A dance. Tomorrow.” Haewon let in, lips tucked in a thin line as she continued on. “My mom kinda made me go. It’s a long story. But, in short, I don’t have anything to wear.”

“Oh, a dance? That sounds like fun, though.” Miyeon uttered, tilting her head as Haewon chuckled breathily.

“In some cases, sure. But it wasn’t ever planned, and I’m going alone so I can only imagine it’s going to be a long night.” Haewon expressed, shrugging her shoulders lightly.

“Alone? Why doesn’t Heeseung go with you?”

“He said he would, but he can’t. He has a game tomorrow night, and it’d be crucial for him to miss it considering they’re getting ready for a tournament.” She explained briefly, receiving small nods and hums.
